Requirements
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering from an accredited university
  • 8-15 years of experience in air quality permitting and environmental compliance
  • Experience in preparing air permit applications, with Title V experience preferred
  • Experience working with state and local air agencies, with multi-state experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of air permitting regulations, emissions calculations, and control technologies
  • Proficiency in air dispersion modeling tools such as AERMOD and CALPUFF is preferred
  • Working knowledge of multi-media environmental compliance programs, including SPCC, stormwater, EPCRA Tier II/TRI, and hazardous waste
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to technical accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, with the ability to support and mentor junior team members
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and support air quality permitting in multiple states, including PSD, NNSR, Title V, synthetic minor, and true minor permits
  • Perform emissions calculations, engineering analyses, and evaluations of control equipment performance and operating parameters
  • Prepare modeling protocols for agency approval and conduct air dispersion modeling using AERMOD, CALPUFF, and screening tools
  • Analyze and validate technical data, resolving discrepancies to produce accurate, review-ready results and reports, including stack test reports
  • Maintain complete and accurate project documentation and deliverables within scope, schedule, and budget
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and constraints proactively with internal teams and clients
  • Deliver high-quality, compliant technical work products aligned with regulatory and client expectations
  • Foster relationships between clients and regulatory agencies in multiple states
  • Contribute to team performance and continuous improvement of air quality services
  • Support environmental compliance across multiple media, including SPCC, stormwater, EPCRA Tier II/TRI, and hazardous waste
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all safety policies and OSHA requirements
  • Stay current on environmental regulations, technologies, and industry best practices
