Facilities Manager @ VAST

Vast is looking for a Facilities Manager, reporting to the Associate Director, Mojave Test Site, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations and the E-2 LOX/Kerosene oxidizer-rich staged combustion engine.

This will be a full-time, exempt position located at our Mojave Test Site location.

Responsibilities:

Delegation of day to day Facilities operations
Effectively communicate planned facility maintenance schedules
Ensure on time PMs for all shared facility equipment rented or owned including fleet vehicles
Manage facilities ticketing system
Purchase equipment, tooling and supplies for department
Create and manage annual budget for Facilities department in Mojave
Submittal of new and redevelopment plans to obtain Kern County permits
Ensure adherence to state and federal laws and regulations for all department work performed
Apply lean strategies to develop and support continuous process improvement

Minimum Qualifications:

4+ years of experience facilities management
Knowledge of related Cal/OSHA regulations

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Team building
Project management experience
Exceptional organizational skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, along with exceptional interpersonal skills
Time management and shift scheduling

Additional Requirements:

Willingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestones
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, ranging from 20F to 120F, outdoors

Pay Range:

Facilities Supervisor: $82,800 - $101,200
Facilities Manager: $100,800 - $123,200

The person hired will have access to information and items subject to U.S. export controls, and therefore, must either be a “U.S. person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
