- A current Registered Nurse license in the State of New Jersey is required.
- Completion of a Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited nurse practitioner or advanced practice nurse program is required.
- Eligibility for national certification as a nurse practitioner or advanced practice nurse through an approved certifying body is required.
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills are required.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Creative problem-solving skills are required.
- A minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience is required.
- Current Basic Life Support certification is required.
- Operate as a licensed healthcare provider under a written collaborative agreement with a physician and credentialing through the Medical Staff Office.
- Uphold professional standards as a member of the Medical Staff, including ethical decision-making, participation in quality assessment and improvement initiatives, ongoing self-evaluation, leadership responsibilities, and involvement in research activities.
- Pursue the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain clinical competence.
- Perform comprehensive health assessments within the Hematology/Oncology practice.
- Develop differential diagnoses.
- Prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments.
- Manage care for patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions.
- Apply critical clinical judgment in the direct management of patients.
- Promote patient wellness through conducting and contributing to research and providing patient and staff education.
- Hematology/Oncology experience is preferred.
- An Oncology Nursing Society or Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate is preferred.
- A Radiation Therapy Certificate is preferred.
- An Oncology Certified Nurse certification is preferred.
- Participation in professional and/or specialty organizations is preferred.
