About the job

Requirements
  • 5–7 years of total experience.
  • 4–5 years of experience with SQL and data analysis, including advanced SQL, window functions, common table expressions, query optimization, complex analytical queries, and performance tuning.
  • 3–4 years of experience with business intelligence tools, including Looker, LookML development, Explores, dashboards, data visualization, and self-service analytics design.
  • 2–3 years of experience with Google Analytics, including GA4 implementation, configuration, reporting, tracking strategy, and warehouse integration.
  • 3–5 years of statistical and analytical experience, including descriptive and inferential statistics, trend analysis, and anomaly detection.
  • 2–3 years of experience in A/B testing and experimentation, including experimental design, statistical testing, hypothesis formulation, and results interpretation.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience using large language models, including GPT-4, Gemini, or Cortex Analyst; AI agent development and prompt engineering; and AI output validation and quality standards.
  • 4–6 years of business and communication experience, including cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Product, Finance, and Engineering; executive communication and presentation; and trusted-advisor relationships.
  • 3–4 years of business analytics experience, including customer analytics for segmentation, lifetime value, and churn; KPI development and metric definition; and translating business questions into analytical frameworks.
  • 2–3 years of team leadership experience, including mentoring junior analysts, code review, standards enforcement, and building team best practices and documentation.
  • 3–4 years of project management experience, including end-to-end analytical project ownership, managing multiple concurrent initiatives, and proactive insight delivery.
Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end delivery of complex analytical initiatives, from framing business questions and scoping analysis through execution, presentation, and stakeholder follow-through; proactively surface KPI trends, anomalies, opportunities, and risks.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis for customers, executives, and internal stakeholders, adding interpretive framing and actionable recommendations.
  • Advise Marketing, Product, Finance, Engineering, Account Management, and Support/Operations; challenge business assumptions when data contradicts them and translate findings into decision-relevant narratives.
  • Design and support statistically valid A/B test experiments, including hypotheses, sample sizing, success and guardrail metrics, and results analysis; communicate findings to Product and Marketing stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary Google Analytics subject matter expert; own GA4 reporting, custom dimension and metric design, tracking plan validation, and Google Analytics-to-warehouse integration; advise on tagging strategy for product features and platform launches with the Lead MarTech Solutions Architect.
  • Design, build, and maintain high-performing Looker Explores and dashboards for business stakeholders, owning deliverables end to end with minimal rework.
  • Develop high-quality LookML for owned domains, including complex dimensions, measures, derived tables, and Explore configurations; document and test LookML and ensure consistency with semantic-layer standards.
  • Ensure canonical, unambiguous metric definitions in owned domains align with Analytics Engineering definitions; identify and resolve discrepancies between business intent and semantic-layer implementation.
  • Expand self-service analytics so nontechnical users in Marketing, Customer Success, and Finance can answer questions independently, targeting coverage across at least two new business units per half-year.
  • Maintain the accuracy and consistency of production Explores and dashboards as data warehouse structures change, identifying discrepancies proactively.
  • Own the accuracy and freshness of data products in scope; investigate data-quality issues with root-cause evidence and partner with Analytics Engineers and Data Engineers to resolve upstream problems.
  • Write performant SQL, including complex window functions and common table expressions; collaborate with Data Engineers on query optimization, compute-cost efficiency, and derived-table design.
  • Collaborate with Analytics Engineers on LookML architecture and semantic-layer design, providing analytical requirements and validating that data models reflect business logic.
  • Partner with the Senior BI & AI Analyst on customer analytics definitions for segmentation, lifetime value, and churn; accurately surface Data Science machine-learning model outputs in dashboards and analytical narratives.
  • Understand data pipelines feeding owned dashboards well enough to diagnose freshness and quality issues, escalate them to the appropriate team, and communicate resolution timelines.
  • Own team coding standards and analytical best practices, including SQL style guides, LookML conventions, documentation requirements, and pull-request review processes; conduct substantive, consistent code reviews that build junior analysts' capabilities.
  • Mentor Junior Data Analysts through paired analysis, direct feedback, and structured review; track improvement and escalate development needs or blockers to the Manager.
  • Build and contribute reusable assets to shared team libraries, including SQL query patterns, LookML components, analysis frameworks, and documentation templates.
  • Contribute at least one standards update, governance policy, or best-practice guide annually.
  • Use large language model and AI tools such as Gemini, GPT-4, and Cortex Analyst hands-on to accelerate analytics workflows, including automated insight narration, anomaly detection and explanation, and AI-assisted dashboard annotation.
  • Design and build self-service analytics agents that let nontechnical stakeholders in Marketing, Customer Success, Finance, and Account Management query data and surface insights in natural language; own the lifecycle from prompt design through output validation and iteration.
  • Configure Cortex Analyst or equivalent AI-assisted business intelligence platforms, including semantic-model templates and YAML definitions, to produce accurate, governed responses to unstructured business questions.
  • Define quality standards for AI-generated analytics, including accuracy validation, hallucination detection, and review before insights are shared externally or with executives.
  • Prototype and propose AI tools that reduce repetitive analytics work; present prototypes to the Manager with build-versus-buy recommendations and documented lessons for the shared AI analytics playbook.
Desired Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of experience in Python or programming, including data manipulation and automation.
  • Experience with version control using Git and code review.
