Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent education is required.
  • At least one year of work experience is required.
  • Graduation from an accredited Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program, or equivalent education and/or experience, with RCIS, RCES, CEPS, or RT(R)CI certification is required; certification must be obtained within the first two years of hire and maintained.
  • Alternatively, graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology and one year of radiologic experience is required.
  • A current Basic Life Support certification is required, either American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider certification.
  • A high school degree or equivalent is required.
  • The role requires standing, sitting, walking, and working indoors continuously; occasional stair climbing, outdoor work in temperature extremes, kneeling, and lifting; frequent work from elevated areas, in confined spaces, twisting, squatting, pinching, reaching overhead, and exerting force; and the ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
  • The role requires the ability to lift and carry 50 pounds unassisted, lift 25 pounds overhead, maintain specified vision and hearing acuity, distinguish colors and depth, and maintain tactile and olfactory sensory function.
  • The employee must be physically qualified for respirator use initially and as required.
  • A copy of an academic degree or transcript is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform scrub duties and related procedures for cardiac interventions and left, right, and left-heart catheterizations without assistance.
  • Perform scrub duties and related procedures for peripheral diagnostics or interventions with minimal assistance.
  • Scrub, gown, glove, and set up the back table with the necessary equipment.
  • Record cardiac interventions and left, right, and left-heart catheterization hemodynamics accurately; monitor procedures and document inventory used and the sequence of events in the MacLab event log, requiring only occasional minimal assistance.
  • Maintain ECG setup and rhythm monitoring.
  • Maintain basic hemodynamic setup and waveform monitoring.
  • Prepare the room with fellow staff members to support safe, effective patient care.
  • Perform required checks on all safety equipment.
  • Ensure adequate supplies are available to perform procedures.
  • Transport patients alone or with a fellow staff member.
Desired Qualifications
  • Telemetry experience is preferred.
  • Arterial and venous sheath removal experience is preferred.
