Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree and 2 to 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
  • Compliance with all NCAA, Ivy League, and University of Pennsylvania rules and policies is required.
Responsibilities
  • Coach and teach sport-specific skills and strategies to current student-athletes during practice and competition, including preparing practice and competition plans.
  • Educate team members on proper training techniques, exercises, and sport-specific needs.
  • Travel with the team to all away competitions and provide instruction and advice before, during, and after competitions in group and individual settings.
  • Recruit national-caliber athletes through mail, phone, and in-person contact; identify and vet prospects for character, academic ability, and athletic ability.
  • Travel to evaluate recruits at competitions and organize and coordinate official and unofficial visits.
  • Communicate with the athletic liaison to admissions and financial aid regarding the academic viability of top prospects.
  • Work with staff members in compliance, student development, external operations, facilities and operations, equipment operations, internal operations, and athletic development.
  • Assist with organizing team and coach travel, compliance paperwork, and other administrative responsibilities.
  • Serve as a role model and advisor for student-athletes, connect them with necessary resources, and provide a support system for the team.
  • Build relationships with alumni, fans, campus partners, and the broader community.
  • Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Playing ability of National Tennis Rating Program 5.0 or higher.
