Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program is required.
  • A Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
  • An American Heart Association Basic Life Support certificate is required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification is required for some specific clinical units.
  • Employees must be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care to patients and make necessary nursing judgments, including assessing patients' healthcare needs and formulating, implementing, and evaluating care plans.
  • Coordinate patient care and direct assistive personnel to provide safe, effective, efficient, equitable, timely, and patient-centered care.
  • Work collaboratively with other health professionals to determine the healthcare needs of patients and families.
  • Develop relationships with patients and families that maintain and communicate trust and respect, exchange information effectively, and advocate for patients.
  • Plan and provide education according to each patient's care plan and predicted length of stay, including education for family members and caregivers when appropriate.
  • Participate in developing educational materials and presentations for patients and significant others, and document outcomes in the medical record.
  • Ensure that patients and significant others receive education regarding discharge and available community services.
  • Maintain annual mandatory education requirements, including emergency skills and unit-based competencies.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities.
  • Participate in educational opportunities for professional growth, personal well-being, and license renewal.
Desired Qualifications
  • A baccalaureate degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • One to three years of related work experience is preferred.

Beth Israel Lahey Health rolls out Heidi's AI scribing to all physicians after 90% report better patient presence

Beth Israel Lahey Health is rolling out Heidi's ambient AI scribing tool to all its physicians following a successful trial across its facilities. The health system, which serves over 6,000 providers across 14 hospitals and 175 primary care practices, prioritises addressing physician burnout, with nearly half of US physicians reporting burnout. During a six-month trial offering Heidi to 1,000 providers, the majority adopted the technology. Survey results showed 89% were satisfied with note quality, 90% felt more present with patients, 74% reduced after-hours work time, and 82% experienced reduced cognitive load during visits. The implementation demonstrates how ambient AI can deliver immediate relief to physicians whilst benefiting patients and the healthcare system. Heidi supports over 2 million consultations weekly globally and has raised $96.6 million from investors including Point72 Private Investments and Blackbird.
