Requirements
  • A master's degree in social work with two years of postgraduate direct service delivery experience, or a master's degree or Ph.D. in psychology, sociology, or another relevant behavioral science in which clinical experience is a program requirement with two years of postgraduate direct service delivery experience, or a bachelor's degree with five years of clinical employment experience in the behavioral sciences.
  • At least two years of related experience and/or training, including supervisory experience.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • First aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and emergency behavior intervention certifications.
  • Ability to respond sensitively and competently to the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff members, service providers, and professionals.
  • Ability to provide crisis intervention according to company training when needed to maintain a safe environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining emotional control and professional composure.
  • Computer literacy sufficient to meet the responsibilities of the position.
  • Ability to work effectively without intensive supervision and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Working knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screens.
  • Proof of work eligibility status upon request.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
  • Annual influenza vaccination or an approved medical or religious exemption.
Responsibilities
  • Meet all applicable federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards.
  • Maintain the on-call schedule to support children and staff.
  • Participate in the quality assurance plan required for compliance.
  • Provide routine consultation and supervision for clinicians.
  • Provide counseling, crisis management, evaluations, and other clinical functions as needed.
  • Participate in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children as needed.
  • Record relevant clinical data and report clinical information as required.
  • Maintain accurate and current child records and files.
  • Provide data to support staff regarding the admission and discharge of children.
  • Meet predetermined deadlines for timely processing and reunification of unaccompanied alien children.
  • Assist in discharge planning.
  • Maintain current knowledge of community resources.
  • Communicate with referral sources and providers.
  • Attend scheduled meetings and participate in team decisions and operations.
  • Prepare and maintain assigned reports in accordance with agency policies, procedures, licensing standards, and contract standards.
  • Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed or requested by the position supervisor.
  • Implement safety protocols, including evacuating with children and staff during emergencies.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards of conduct.
  • Ensure goal-oriented psychosocial diagnostic assessments, service plans, and progress reports are completed for the clinical department.
  • Ensure clinicians complete children's groups weekly on specified topics and issues.
  • Ensure the clinical department meets all state and federal requirements.
  • Meet predetermined deadlines required by the chain of command and federal partners.
  • Support, encourage, and recruit foster parents in foster care programs.

Compass Connections is a nonprofit provider of community-based services for children, young people, and families. Programs include foster care, residential care, family preservation, behavioral health, and support for unaccompanied children. Teams work with public agencies and caregivers to provide safe, stable, and individualized services.
