Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience in backend or infrastructure engineering.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, networking, and cloud architecture.
  • Proficiency in Go, Python, or Rust.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery, observability tools, and cloud-native design patterns.
  • Ability to operate independently and deliver under ambiguity.
Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain distributed systems that power the AI platform and developer tools.
  • Architect and scale high-throughput, low-latency backend services.
  • Optimize performance, reliability, and cost across the infrastructure stack.
  • Operate and improve cloud-native environments using AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
  • Build automation for deployment, provisioning, and environment lifecycle management.
  • Implement secure, scalable, and repeatable continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
  • Support infrastructure for model inference, training, and evaluation pipelines.
  • Work closely with AI teams to operationalize models at scale.
  • Build systems for prompt orchestration, agent execution, and developer tool integration.
  • Establish observability standards covering metrics, logging, and tracing.
  • Drive incident response, debugging, and reliability engineering practices.
  • Contribute to security, compliance, and data privacy best practices.
  • Partner across AI, product, and engineering teams to unblock delivery.
  • Contribute to technical planning, architecture reviews, and infrastructure strategy.

Intent Lab builds Fleet, an autonomous AI system that acts as an engineering team to turn high-level intents into production-grade software, handling architecture, coding, deployment, testing, and ongoing optimization. Fleet takes natural-language requests and creates software tailored to a user’s constraints and workflow, instead of just generating code. It differentiates itself by delivering end-to-end lifecycle management with built-in quality and performance checks, resulting in production-ready systems. The company aims to shift how software is created by generating and refining software directly from user intent, producing fully verified solutions customized to each task.
