About the job

Requirements
  • At least 6 years of backend or platform engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience with OAuth 2.0 or 2.1 and OpenID Connect, including authorization servers, scopes, audience, PKCE, and token exchange.
  • Experience building services that external customers or partners integrate with, including security reviews.
  • Security-first engineering habits, including deny-by-default authorization, least privilege, and audit logging.
  • Strong skills in TypeScript (Node.js) or Python, and comfort working in the other language.
  • Experience integrating with customers’ identity providers, including OpenID Connect or SAML federation and multi-tenant single sign-on.
Responsibilities
  • Productionize the integration service, an MCP server that outside AI tools connect to over the Streamable HTTP transport.
  • Implement sign-in with OAuth 2.1 using Okta, including token exchange so the service calls Quinn on behalf of the attorney and never passes an outside tool’s token through.
  • Enforce which actions each outside tool may perform based on its permissions and which documents are on each client firm’s approved list, denying everything else by default.
  • Maintain an immutable, exportable audit trail of every action an outside tool takes, including reads, for client-firm review.
  • Design controls for AI-specific risks, including tool misuse driven by document content and abnormal bulk access to documents.
  • Test with at least two external AI tools and support client firms’ security reviews.
  • Build an internal command-line tool for operations teams on the same service.
  • Own the integration service end to end and partner with the Identity and Security teams on authorization design and client security reviews.
  • Work with a backend engineer building matching controls inside the Quinn platform, and with IT and innovation teams at design-partner law firms.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Model Context Protocol servers or AI tool and agent integrations.
  • Okta administration or custom authorization servers.
  • Experience integrating with enterprise legal software, including document management systems, Harvey, or similar.

Toppan Merrill adds proxy statements to Quinn platform for shareholder communications

Toppan Merrill has expanded its Quinn platform to include Proxy Statements and Management Information Circulars. The cloud-based SaaS platform simplifies creating, collaborating on, and filing complex regulatory disclosure documents. Quinn generates formatted documents, enables real-time collaboration, provides a centralised content library, synchronises Excel data dynamically, and uses AI to accelerate drafting. The platform produces filing-ready documents for SEC submission and shareholder distribution. "Customers tell us they need technology that reduces friction, improves collaboration and lets their teams focus on the disclosure itself—not the mechanics of producing it," said Bob Bergstrom, Chief Revenue Officer at Toppan Merrill. The platform requires no installation, offers 24/7 support, and includes Single Sign-On authentication, SOC 2 Type 1 attestation, and ISO 27001 certification.
