About the job
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain is required.
- Experience in international purchasing is required.
- Three to five years of experience in a similar position is required.
- Experience and good knowledge of the market, including customers, systems, and providers, is required.

- Knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is required.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds is required.
- Ability to walk, climb, and maneuver within a refinery or plant environment, including accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells, is required.

- Ability to wear safety equipment as required in manufacturing environments is required.

- Handle purchasing and receive materials into stores.
- Submit goods receipt notes (GRNs) to accounts.
- Attend purchasing-related audits and meetings with suppliers.
- Handle petty-cash procurement.
- Request transportation from the logistics department for deliveries and material exits.
- Send requests for quotation (RFQs) and collect quotations.
- Create purchase requisitions, item codes, purchase orders, and work orders.
- Request approvals and follow up with accounts.
- Provide feedback to the approval contact regarding purchase order concerns, such as price discrepancies and payment terms.
- Follow up with suppliers on deliveries.
- Request prepayments from accounts and follow up on payments.
- Prepare price comparisons for account approval reference.
- Search for new suppliers, register suppliers, obtain quality control approval, request supplier creation from accounts, and update the approved supplier list.
- File purchase orders and quotations for audit purposes.
- Negotiate with suppliers regarding delivery times, discounts, and payment terms.
- Reconcile material test certificates (MTCs), delivery orders (DOs), and invoices for quality control and accounts purposes.
- Previous experience in the manufacturing, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), or automotive industry is preferred.
