  • Bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline.
  • Three to five years of comparable experience.
  • Previous business development and capture experience in Department of Defense markets.
  • Previous management experience delivering technical and management services.
  • Familiarity with the Department of Defense acquisition process.
  • Understanding of key Department of Defense markets, including Dayton, Niceville, Colorado Springs, El Segundo, Los Angeles, Huntsville, and Washington, D.C.
  • Experience with various proposal types, including HTRO, technical narratives, and oral presentations.
  • Ability to negotiate nondisclosure agreements and teaming agreements.
  • Proven use of capture tools and processes, including capture and customer relationship tools, stage-gate reviews, solution sessions, Black Hat reviews, and price-to-win analysis.
  • Strong comprehension of technical requests for information and requests for proposals.
  • Business development and proposal-writing experience in technical domains.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience managing the delivery of technical and management services.
  • Proficiency in managing opportunity funnels and pipelines.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Strong leadership and team-management abilities.
  • Ability to think strategically and align teams around goals.
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced, rapidly changing environments.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute assigned capture efforts to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Identify and evaluate desirable opportunities for the corporate funnel and pipeline.
  • Gather, assess, and validate customer requirements.
  • Identify customer needs, concerns, and constraints that affect the winning solution.
  • Translate requirements into a win strategy, advance the strategy with a strong value proposition, and differentiate bid elements through compelling features and benefits.
  • Support proposal development by providing capture artifacts to the proposal team and participating in kickoff and color-team reviews.
  • Define or oversee conceptual solutions and winning strategies for each opportunity, including initial theming and storyboarding, and transition capture artifacts to the assigned proposal team.
  • Develop, document, and execute capture-management plans and associated strategies for each capture program, including requirements analysis, competitive analysis, capability assessments, gap analyses, prime-versus-sub analysis, price-to-win analysis, teaming plans, and call plans.
  • Conduct timely reviews throughout the capture lifecycle, including stage reviews for the executive leadership team and functional managers.
  • Analyze post-award feedback and recommend improvements to the capture process.
  • Develop and document customer, partner, and competitor profiles.
  • Contribute significantly to meeting or exceeding annual sales and profitability goals.
  • Work with the Executive Director on short-, mid-, and long-term strategies and brief the executive leadership team at offsite meetings.
  • Contribute to expanding Odyssey's reputation and industry engagement.

Odyssey lands NVIDIA and Samsung backing to build AI world simulator

Odyssey, an AI research company developing frontier world models, has secured investment from NVentures, NVIDIA's venture capital arm, and Samsung Next. The funding will support development of a general-purpose world simulator capable of generating infinitely long, interactive simulations from any starting point. Founded two years ago, Odyssey recently released Odyssey-2 Pro, a world model that can be integrated into applications across robotics, gaming, education and defence. The investment adds to backing from GV, EQT, Air Street Capital and notable angel investors including Jeff Dean and Elad Gil. The company will use the capital to improve simulation length, quality and interactivity, whilst scaling infrastructure for training next-generation world models. Odyssey's research team includes talent from DeepMind, OpenAI, Tesla, Waymo and Meta.
