Why we need you:
- We are looking for an Intern-Harness Design Engineer to join our team. The goal of this role at Wisk is to develop electrical wire harnesses while adhering to FAA Part 23/25/27 Regulations (including AC25.1701 & AC43.13-1B) and industry standards (AS50881 & DO-160), or equivalent for other safety critical systems / industries.
- The successful candidate will join the EWIS team to drive the technical efforts of designing the Gen6 aircraft’s Electrical Wiring Interconnect System (EWIS). In this role you will develop and optimize the functional performance, reliability, cost and weight, while adhering to the aircraft’s system-safety architecture and all relevant FAA regulations.
What you will do:
- As part of the Aircraft IPT organization, and deployed in EWIS Team, you will act as a Harness Design Engineer on the Generation 6 aircraft
- You will take part in developing detailed electrical harnesses, taking in account design rules, utilizing the Siemens NX and Siemens Capital tool set for the engineering team.
- In some areas, you will be working closely with Aircraft systems and Structures teams
Required Skills/Experience:
- Undergraduate Engineering (BSc.) students 2-4 years of studies
- Fundamental knowledge of aerospace, electrical, or other engineering principles.
- You have a strong and applied knowledge with Siemens NX design tools
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, multitasker, and attention to detail
- Hands-on use of the Simens Capital and NX CAD tools for designing EWIS.
- You are a highly motivated, self starting individual with a broad set of skills and never afraid of facing complex technical challenges
- You are a solution oriented individual with a strong analytical mindset
- Strong communication skills and can tailor your communications to suit the audience
- You can adapt quickly or propose changes needed to achieve results in a timely fashion
- You are a positive team player
Project Plan/ Statement of Work (SOW):
- Use Siemens NX CAD to create harnesses, assemblies, and routing them in an aircraft structure environment, specifically revise horizontal and vertical tail harnesses
- Familiarize themselves with Capital Tools for designing electrical system schematics, wiring diagrams and 2D drawings ( Capital Logic, Capital Harness XC etc.)
- Familiarize themselves with procedures, requirements and standards for EWIS design
Hourly rate will be $20 USD an hour.
This internship role will be based at Wisk’s headquarters in Mountain View, California and relocation or housing will not be provided.

Must be legally authorized to work in the US
Must live in the US at both the time of application AND at the time the internship begins
Must be either a rising sophomore, junior, or senior in college
Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0, transcripts are required
Must be an enrolled student at both the time of application AND at the time the internship begins
Must be able to work 40 hours a week for 10 weeks (full-time for 3 months)
