Requirements
  • General knowledge of electrical circuits and electrical equipment, normally acquired through 5 years of experience.
  • Ability to read and use blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to move or lift tools and equipment exceeding 100 pounds occasionally, with frequent walking, sitting, climbing, bending, and stooping.
  • Experience working with 277/480-volt power distribution systems.
  • Experience with generators, Energy Monitoring and Control Systems, Variable Frequency Drive systems, and automatic transfer switches.
  • 6-10 years of experience required.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Valid New Jersey Electrical License required.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Completion of all required safety education.
Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and installation work on electrically operated equipment, including air conditioning and refrigeration, heating, laundry and kitchen equipment, medical and laboratory equipment, lighting, appliances, and pneumatic tube systems.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and installation of low-voltage systems, including nurse call, public address, intercom, computer, and security camera systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and electrical inspections as required.
  • Respond to electrical trouble calls from maintenance requisitions.
  • Observe and adhere to safety and other regulations and practices, including lockout/tagout, confined-space, and magnetic resonance imaging safety.
  • Contribute to the positive work climate and overall team effort of the department.
  • Perform other duties supporting daily Plant Operations, including responding to, troubleshooting, and resolving maintenance requests, service calls, urgent operational issues, and facility-related emergencies.
Desired Qualifications
  • Progressive healthcare experience.
  • New Jersey ICS Electrical Inspector Certification, ICS1 and/or ICS2.
  • Journeyman Electrician Certification.
  • Experience with emergency power systems, generators, automatic transfer switches, and uninterruptible power supply systems.
