Requirements
  • Salary range is $97,153.00 - $155,445.00 annually + bonus + benefits. Pay Type: Salary.
  • Residence location preference: preferred in western Pennsylvania area, will consider individuals residing in Ohio or West Virginia.
  • Travel required for claims.
  • The job objective is to investigate, evaluate, estimate and process complex property claims in excess of $1 million across the claims organizations operating area.
  • Must have 10 years of experience handling property claims with a minimum of 5 years of experience handling large/complex losses.
  • Must have demonstrated excellent claims negotiation, communication and investigation skills.
  • Must demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Must meet established guidelines for quality and productivity.
  • Must be able to work independently, recognize and resolve problems and make decisions.
  • Internal candidates must have achieved an overall rating of at least “Meets Expectations” on the last three annual performance reviews.
  • Continuing education is preferred and may be obtained in part or in full through: Industry seminars or workshops; Vale National Estimating Academy; IIA - Associate in Claim designation; and/or CPCU.
  • Must be licensed or willing and able to obtain license in all operating states.
  • The General Adjuster must have extensive knowledge of all personal and commercial lines policies and coverages written by Encova.
  • This position also requires expert knowledge of building reconstruction.
  • This position requires the ability to efficiently and accurately write large and complicated building repair estimates and accurately complete a replacement cost valuation on total losses.
  • The candidate must have extensive knowledge and proven skill with using all property estimating software used by Encova.
  • The candidate should actively demonstrate all required skills listed in the property resolution specialist job description.
Responsibilities
  • Handle primarily large ($1 million) personal and commercial property losses including structure, contents, ALE, scheduled property and business income losses; losses requiring on-site inspection; property coverage questions and limited handled property lawsuits including attending pre-trials, mediations, arbitrations or trials when required.
  • Inspect and write large property estimates, including total losses, on both residential and commercial structures using estimating guides and estimating software.
  • Assist in risk evaluation on homeowners and commercial businesses including verifying insurance to value, coinsurance penalties and documenting any change or increased hazard to the risk.
  • Comply with Encova’s claims organization policies and procedures for contact and communication, verification of coverages, determination of liability, investigation of losses, determination of claims values, completion of forms and reports, and negotiation and settlement of claims.
  • May assist the Director of Property in performing training. Actively participate in the education and development of claims associates.
  • Assist in catastrophe claims handling throughout the entire group of companies, requiring overnight travel or extended stays upon request.
  • Assist property managers in catastrophe coordination in the absence of the Director of Property.
  • Visit agents affected by the catastrophic loss or event and keep agents apprised of the loss developments and reserving activity.
  • Attend seminars, conferences or workshops to continue education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Encova Insurance Appoints Ramu Lingala As Chief Information Officer
