Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • At least 7 years of experience working as a Civil Engineer or Environmental Engineer in the water or wastewater field.
  • Experience relating to water supply, distribution and treatment, wastewater collection, conveyance and treatment.
  • Strong project management skills and experience.
  • Construction management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • A valid driver's license, or the ability to obtain one.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work outdoors during construction season and lift objects or containers weighing 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Provide professional engineering services, including studies, planning, design, specifications, plans, reports, construction administration, construction observation, and project management.
  • Manage a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff on water and wastewater projects from planning through design and construction.
  • Independently manage projects and collaboratively contribute to project plans and specifications.
  • Communicate project updates and progress to clients, supervisors, and project team members throughout all project phases.
  • Attend company, project, and client meetings as necessary.
  • Lead proposal preparation and participate in interviews to secure work for the firm.
  • Participate in business development activities and general marketing of the firm.
  • Provide direction to engineering technicians and other team members developing project plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate with other engineering teams on complex multidisciplinary projects.
  • Follow the company employee handbook and mandated safety policies.
  • Perform responsibilities in a conscientious, legal, and ethical manner.
  • Participate in professional organizations and community leadership programs as appropriate.
  • Travel and stay out of town as required, and work overtime, especially during construction season.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Professional Engineer license, or the ability to obtain one within 6–12 months.
  • Experience preparing civil design drawings, specifications, and opinions of cost related to water and sewer utilities, pump stations, and treatment facilities.
  • Experience working with local and state agencies.
  • Hydraulic modeling or process modeling experience.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other computer-aided design software for civil design.
  • A Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
