About the company

Nokia makes the equipment and software that mobile carriers, cloud companies, and businesses use to run networks, from cell-tower radios to fiber links between AI data centers. From 1998 to 2011 it was the world's largest mobile phone maker; it sold that business to Microsoft in 2014, and HMD Global, a separate company, makes Nokia-branded phones under license. Its network unit sells optical systems that send data over fiber, internet routers, and broadband gear, and its mobile unit sells radios and the core software that runs 5G networks. Nokia earns money from equipment and service contracts and from licensing its patents to phone makers and carmakers. It was founded in 1865 as a wood pulp mill and is based in Espoo, Finland.

What believers are saying

  • AI builders are a growth engine: AI and cloud customers ordered €2.8 billion from Nokia in the June 2026 quarter.
  • Equity has gained value: Nokia's US shares rose 60% from January to October 2026, while Swedish rival Ericsson's fell 1%.
  • The US is Nokia's top hiring hub: 211 of its 622 open roles in October 2026, versus 19 in Finland.

What critics are saying

  • Cuts are widening: in July 2026, Nokia raised restructuring charges to €800 million from €250 million, targeting Europe and China.
  • Expect office time: only 5 of Nokia's 622 open roles in October 2026 were remote, and 248 were fully on-site.
  • AI is still a small slice: AI and cloud customers made up 9% of Nokia's June 2026 quarter sales.

What makes Nokia unique

  • Nvidia owns 2.9% of Nokia: the companies jointly develop mobile-network software that runs on Nvidia computing hardware.
  • It owns a historic US research lab: Bell Labs, birthplace of the transistor and Unix, lists 10 Nobel Prizes.
  • It manufactures optical chips itself: Nokia owns the San Jose semiconductor plant acquired with US networking firm Infinera.

Nokia stock rebounds 6% off support after earnings selloff - is the worst over?

Nokia stock rebounds 6% off support after earnings selloff - is the worst over? - Last updated: Monday, October 26, 2026 Quick overview. * Nokia shares rebounded nearly 6% to €7.77 after a sharp decline of almost 10% last week, despite beating earnings expectations. * The company's revised free cash flow guidance raised concerns, dropping from 55%-75% to 35%-55%, alongside reported negative cash flow of €99 million. * Restructuring costs significantly impacted profitability, with a 22% year-over-year decline in GAAP operating profit to €196 million. * Analysts remain divided on Nokia's outlook, with some maintaining a Hold rating while others see potential for growth, contingent on improved cash generation. Nokia shares rebounded nearly 6% to €7.77 on Monday after plunging almost 10% last week, as investors reassessed an earnings beat against weaker cash flow guidance, rising restructuring costs and a technical breakdown below key support. Nokia stock rebounds after sharp sell-off. Nokia (NYSE: NOK) shares recovered from the €7.20 area to close at €7.77 on Monday, regaining part of the ground lost during Thursday's sharp decline. The stock had plunged nearly 10% after the company released its third-quarter 2026 results, despite beating Wall Street expectations for revenue and adjusted earnings. Adjusted earnings per share reached €0.102, exceeding the €0.070 consensus estimate, while revenue totalled €5.83 billion against forecasts of €5.73 billion. However, the positive surprises failed to reassure investors, who focused instead on weaker cash flow expectations and mounting restructuring expenses. The broader market sell-off added pressure, with the S&P 500 falling 1.4% and the Nasdaq declining 2.2%. Monday's rebound suggests buyers are returning after the steep decline, but the recovery must be sustained before the broader technical outlook improves. Free cash flow guidance raises concerns. The biggest disappointment was Nokia's revised full-year free cash flow conversion guidance, which was reduced to 35%-55% from the previous range of 55%-75%. The company also reported negative free cash flow of approximately €99 million in the third quarter, raising questions about its ability to convert operating profits into cash while financing restructuring and expansion. Nokia expects total restructuring charges to reach €1.1 billion in 2026. Management also plans to deploy another €400 million in working capital this year to secure supplies and prepare for anticipated growth in 2027. These commitments increase near-term financial pressure, even as Nokia seeks to strengthen its position in networking, cloud computing and advanced infrastructure. Investors will want evidence that these investments can support future growth without further weakening cash generation. Restructuring costs pressure profitability. Nokia's reported GAAP operating profit fell 22% year over year to €196 million, reflecting €357 million in restructuring and integration costs. By comparison, adjusted operating profit reached €605 million, highlighting the difference between the company's underlying operating performance and reported profitability. The gap has left investors questioning how quickly Nokia can complete its restructuring programme and whether improved operational efficiency will eventually translate into stronger cash flow. Analyst sentiment remains divided. Bernstein maintained a Hold rating, while another firm reiterated a Buy rating with a $16 price target, reflecting differing views on whether the deterioration in cash generation is temporary or signals a more persistent challenge. Nokia stock tests technical support. The sell-off pushed Nokia below €7.50 and through its 200-day simple moving average, which had provided support since July. The breakdown weakened the technical outlook and indicated that sellers had regained control. The €7.30 area remains an important support reference following the recent decline. A sustained move below it could expose the stock to renewed selling, while Monday's recovery to €7.77 places the €7.50 level back in focus. Holding above €7.50 could help stabilise sentiment and encourage further buying. However, a failure to maintain the recovery could bring the recent lows back into focus. Nokia stock outlook: can buyers sustain the rebound? Nokia's earnings beat and opportunities in cloud and advanced networking provide potential longer-term support. Nevertheless, the reduction in free cash flow guidance and substantial restructuring expenses remain significant concerns. Monday's 6% rebound offers relief after last week's sharp decline, but the recovery alone does not resolve the underlying financial risks. For the rally to continue, investors will need evidence that Nokia can improve cash conversion, control restructuring costs and translate demand for networking infrastructure into sustainable profitability. Until then, the stock remains vulnerable to renewed selling, particularly if it struggles to hold above the €7.50 area. 10 best Forex brokers. | / | MIN DEPOSIT $100 | Visit Now | | / | MIN DEPOSIT $0 | Visit Now | | / | MIN DEPOSIT $100 | Visit Now | | / | MIN DEPOSIT $250 | Visit Now | | / | MIN DEPOSIT $0 | Visit Now | | / | MIN DEPOSIT $2,000 | Visit Now | | / | MIN DEPOSIT $0 | Visit Now | Skerdian Meta Lead Analyst Skerdian Meta Lead Analyst. Nokia, ICEYE partner to strengthen Ukraine's military connectivity.

Nokia, ICEYE partner to strengthen Ukraine's military connectivity. 26 October 2026 Nokia has partnered with Finnish satellite technology company ICEYE to sign a letter of Intent with Ukraine's Ministry of Defence to explore ways of improving the country's military communications using satellite technology. As a result, the move focuses on helping Ukraine develop satellite communications systems that it can own and operate independently. The move comes as Ukraine looks to strengthen its communications networks amid the ongoing war with Russia. The technology will use low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites to provide connectivity for military operations, border security, emergency services and disaster response. Unlike conventional arrangements where countries depend on outside providers, the proposed systems would allow governments to control their satellites, ground equipment and communication terminals. Earlier this month, Nokia and ICEYE announced plans to jointly develop secure, high-speed satellite broadband systems for governments and defence agencies. President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said: "Modern warfare has proven that reliable communications are a matter of national security. "We must all rely on capabilities that we can control. The Letter of Intent between the Ministry of Defense, ICEYE, and Nokia is an important step in this direction. I thank Finland and the Prime Minister of Finland for their consistent support. We value partners who not only help Ukraine, but also work with us to build Europe's long-term security." ICEYE CEO and Co-Founder, Rafal Modrzewski added: "Ukraine needs secure, sovereign and high-performance satellite communications systems that it controls. We have a proven track record of delivering sovereign missions at speed to help build that capability. ICEYE has proudly supported Ukraine since 2022, and we remain committed to continuing that support today." Nokia Defense Chief Geopolitical & Government Relations Officer, and Chairman, Mikko Hautala, concluded: "Nations need communications they can rely on in every situation. Satellite networks extend and protect connectivity when networks on the ground are disrupted. "This makes them a key part of any secure communications system. Through this Letter of Intent, together with Ukraine and ICEYE, we will explore how trusted, sovereign satellite communications can strengthen Ukraine's resilience and give it control over the connectivity it depends on."

Hop-on's Digitalage targets Enterprise Licensing for AI-Assisted Moderation technology.

Hop-on's Digitalage targets Enterprise Licensing for AI-Assisted Moderation technology. Former Nokia licensing executive Robert T. Braun joins industry leaders at IAM Live as Digitalage prepares its first enterprise-licensing candidate and creator-platform launch TEMECULA, CA, October 23, 2026 (Newswire.com) - Hop-on, Inc. (OTCID:HPNN) today identified AI-assisted text moderation as the first technology its wholly owned subsidiary, Digitalage, Inc., is preparing for enterprise evaluation and potential licensing. The initiative outlines a second prospective commercialization channel alongside Digitalage's creator-facing media platform. Digitalage's strategy is to operate its underlying media infrastructure within its creator ecosystem while preparing selected technologies for licensing to outside platforms, developers and enterprises through APIs and negotiated commercial agreements. The announcement follows Digitalage Chief Executive Officer Robert T. Braun's participation at IAM Live: Patent Transactions 2026, held October 22 in San Diego. The event marked Braun's first IAM appearance representing Digitalage as CEO following his appointment in September 2026. Braun and Hop-on Chairman and CEO Peter Michaels also held preliminary discussions with industry participants regarding technology licensing, intellectual-property commercialization and potential strategic relationships. No agreements were announced. "Digitalage was created for creators, but not as a one-use system," said Peter Michaels, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Hop-on and Founder and Chairman of Digitalage. "The infrastructure we're developing to manage, protect and monetize digital media is designed to serve businesses well beyond our own creator ecosystem. Our objective is to build it, prove it and turn the components that solve real problems into commercial opportunities." AI-Assisted Moderation: First Enterprise Licensing Priority Digitalage's initial enterprise licensing candidate is an AI-assisted text-moderation engine designed to analyze live chat, comments and creator interactions, identifying content that warrants review. The company is developing optimized AI models and API integration capabilities intended to allow organizations to incorporate moderation into their existing applications and operational workflows. The technology is approaching demonstration readiness. Near-term priorities are completing the demonstration, validating operating performance and evaluating integration requirements with prospective pilot partners. Digitalage welcomes inquiries from organizations interested in exploring potential pilot deployments. Additional capabilities under development and evaluation include visual and video content protection, live-media infrastructure and digital rights-management workflows. Robert Braun: Turning Intellectual Property Into Commercial Value At IAM Live, Braun participated in the session "SEP Licensing Strategies That Maximise Returns" alongside Kent Baker, IP Adviser at TRASNA, and Roberto Ribeiro, Partner at DANIEL. The discussion addressed licensing negotiations, cross-industry standard-essential patent disputes and fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory (FRAND) licensing structures. Braun brings more than 20 years of international intellectual-property licensing experience, including nearly 12 years at Nokia, where he led patent-licensing strategy across the Americas and portions of Asia. Digitalage's enterprise initiative concerns its own media technologies and associated intellectual-property rights. "Licensing starts with identifying a problem worth solving and demonstrating that your technology delivers value," said Braun. "Digitalage is developing capabilities with applications beyond our own platform. Our priority is to validate those technologies, protect the underlying rights and build commercial relationships that can create long-term value." Creator Launch and Enterprise Commercialization Digitalage continues to advance its creator-facing platform, including live broadcasting, paid viewer access, replays, content libraries, creator controls and monetization. As announced October 21, the company is targeting an expanded creator Alpha in November, broader Beta testing in early December and commercial availability in the United States, Canada and Mexico before December 31, 2026. Digitalage's creator ecosystem is intended to provide a real-world operating environment for its infrastructure. The company's next major operational objective is to validate the complete paid-media transaction workflow, from live broadcast and viewer purchase through replay availability and accurate creator settlement. The launch remains dependent on successful testing, financing, payment readiness and applicable approvals. Digitalage's enterprise licensing initiative complements these activities by creating an additional potential revenue opportunity from selected components of the company's underlying technology. Future commercial arrangements will depend on technology validation, applicable intellectual-property rights and definitive agreements. No licensing revenue is being announced in connection with the IAM event. About Hop-on, Inc. and Digitalage Hop-on, Inc.
