Your Recipe for Impact — What You’ll Do

As a Construction Project Manager – Remodels, you will lead the successful execution of restaurant remodel projects across an assigned portfolio, ensuring each project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to Whataburger's quality standards. You'll partner with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to create exceptional restaurant environments that support our Team Members and Guests.

Day-to-Day Ingredients — Responsibilities

As a Construction Project Manager – Remodels, you will:

• Manage remodel projects from planning through completion across an assigned portfolio.
• Coordinate project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
• Monitor project progress and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
• Track project budgets, timelines, and financial performance.
• Partner with contractors, vendors, and consultants to support project execution.
• Oversee contract administration and project documentation.
• Identify project risks and drive timely resolution of issues.
• Prepare project reports, presentations, and leadership updates.
• Ensure compliance with construction standards, processes, and requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to achieve project goals.
• Coach, develop, and manage performance for assigned team members.

What You Bring to the Table — Required Experience

As a Construction Project Manager – Remodels, you must have: 

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4+ years of construction, project management, or related experience.
• Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
• Knowledge of construction project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
• Proven ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders effectively.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Extra Toppings — Desired Experience

As a Construction Project Manager – Remodels, we prefer you to have: 

• Restaurant, retail, or multi-site construction experience.
• Experience leading remodel and renovation projects.
• Direct experience managing contractors and third-party vendors.
• Familiarity with construction contracts, permitting, and compliance requirements.
• Experience supervising or mentoring project teams.
• Proficiency with project management and reporting tools.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Where & How You’ll Work

This role is based at the San Antonio Home Office, working on‑site Monday through Thursday with remote flexibility on Fridays. In this role, you’ll have strong collaboration with leadership, across cross-functional teams, and with external partners to align capabilities with restaurant realities. The work environment is fast‑paced and requires sound judgment, strategic thinking, and strong collaboration skills. Full‑time availability is required, with occasional extended hours based on business needs, along with occasional travel to properties, project sites, and external meetings. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of the San Antonio Home Office.
