Former International Criminal Court (ICC) Spokesperson Fadi El Abdallah joins APO Group to lead Africa's most advanced Strategic Reputation and Crisis Communications division.

Former International Criminal Court (ICC) Spokesperson Fadi El Abdallah joins APO Group to lead Africa's most advanced Strategic Reputation and Crisis Communications division. aalqali October 21, 2026 You may also like. APO Group (www.APO-opa.com), the communications consultancy built for performance across Africa, today announced the appointment of former International Criminal Court Spokesperson and Head of Public Affairs Fadi El Abdallah as Chief Strategic Advisor, Reputation and Crisis Communications, and the launch of APO Group's new Strategic Reputation & Crisis Communications division. It helps multinational corporations, financial institutions, African governments and sovereign entities, pan-African corporates, and organisations across the continent's fastest-growing sectors prepare for, manage, and recover from high-stakes reputational crises. Its services span crisis rapid response, executive counsel, crisis readiness, reputation recovery, and continuous crisis intelligence. For additional insights, watch the full interview with Fadi El Abdallah here: https://apo-opa.co/4zjYXQ9 As the official Spokesperson and Head of Public Affairs of the International Criminal Court (ICC) for 15 years, El Abdallah, PhD, operated at the centre of some of the most complex and high-profile institutional crises of the past two decades, managing media pressure, countering coordinated disinformation campaigns, advising senior leadership under extreme public scrutiny, and coordinating crisis response across multiple stakeholders and jurisdictions. On the appointment, Nicolas Pompigne-Mognard (www.Pompigne-Mognard.com), Founder and Chairman of APO Group, said: "Reputation and crisis communications are among the most under-served disciplines in Africa, yet also among the most critical. For 15 years, Fadi managed institutional reputation during coordinated disinformation campaigns, sanctions crises, and war crimes trials, before a global audience and under permanent legal constraint. There is no comparable practitioner on the continent, and we are proud to welcome him to APO Group to lead this division." Bas Wijne, CEO of APO Group, added: "What makes this division different is that we do not only advise, we execute. A strategy that sits on paper is worthless when a narrative is moving across 12 markets in three languages overnight. Fadi brings the strategic framework, and APO Group brings the infrastructure to deploy it across all 54 African markets in real time. That combination does not exist anywhere else in Africa." On his appointment as Chief Strategic Advisor, Reputation and Crisis Communications, Fadi El Abdallah said: "Reputation and crisis communications in Africa are at an inflection point. Governments and organisations are facing reputational threats that are faster, more complex and more consequential than ever before, driven by digital media, political pressure and an increasingly discerning global audience. What has been missing is a firm with both the strategic depth to advise at the highest level on reputation and crisis, and the infrastructure to deliver at scale. That is exactly what APO Group offers, and it is why I am here." APO Group operates two integrated business units that together make it unique on the African continent, celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2027 and trusted by 300+ organisations including Emirates, Canon, Nestlé, the NFL, DHL, the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), and Afreximbank. The first is Africa's largest press release and content distribution service, the Africa Newsroom newswire, reaching 450,000+ journalists and news organisations across all 54 African markets in English, French, Arabic, and Portuguese. Through partnerships with Bloomberg Terminal, Thomson Reuters Eikon, LexisNexis, and Dow Jones Factiva, APO Group's distribution extends directly into the international financial and investor community, guaranteeing visibility with the analysts, fund managers, and financial decision-makers who shape investment flows into Africa. The second is a full-service strategic communications consultancy managing complete communications strategy and delivery for some of the leading organisations active in Africa: building strategies from the ground up; creating all content formats through a dedicated in-house content department (press releases, opinion pieces, digital assets for social media, white papers, research reports, executive speeches, and multimedia content); organising press conferences, interviews, and international online press conferences; managing influencer programmes; and securing editorial coverage across the continent and in leading international media including the Financial Times, CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera, TV5 Monde, Bloomberg, Reuters, and AFP. APO Group has communications professionals on the ground across Africa, a pan-African workforce that no global advisory firm can match in breadth, depth, or local knowledge. When an organisation needs to move a narrative at speed, APO Group mobilises both business units simultaneously. No other advisory firm on the continent can make this claim. Copenhagen's Pandektes raises €13.5 million to build the data infrastructure for AI-powered legal research.

Copenhagen's Pandektes raises €13.5 million to build the data infrastructure for AI-powered legal research. October 5, 2026 Pandektes, a Copenhagen-based LegalTech company specialising in legal research, has raised €13.5 million in a Series A funding round. The round was led by Alstin Capital, a Munich-based early-stage venture capital firm with a focus on B2B software companies. The round also saw participation from PROfounders, Scale Capital, and existing investors. The Series A follows the company's €2.9 million Seed investment announced last year. "We have rarely seen a market like legal research, where so many end-users would like to switch their core system but historically simply couldn't. Pandektes is building a modern data infrastructure for the entire European legal landscape that makes exactly that possible," said Andreas Schenk, Managing Partner at Alstin Capital. Founded in 2022 by Casper Laursen and Søren Brokær, Pandektes has built a platform that continuously collects, structures, and connects legal information spanning legislation, court decisions, administrative rulings, and other legal sources, and combines it with an organisation's own data. The company says the platform gives legal professionals faster, more reliable access to legal research than existing services. The process of aggregating legal information from thousands of sources, structuring it, and keeping it updated remains complex, which has led to near-monopoly status for local incumbents. Pandektes believes the advancements in AI have fundamentally changed that notion, and its platform is taking on a handful of established players, including LexisNexis, Westlaw, Beck and Karnov. "Building a serious challenger was always deemed impossible. Today, we can collect and make sense of legal information at a scale that was not feasible before. That fundamentally changes what legal research can be," said Laursen, co-founder and CEO at Pandektes. The traction to date suggests Pandektes can move the needle in an industry where switching costs have been high and innovation limited. It is currently active in Denmark, Germany and Switzerland and used by more than 500 law firms, enterprises, and public institutions. The company reports sixfold revenue growth over the past 12 months, and around two-thirds of organisations that trial the platform become paying customers. Pandektes, however, doesn't want to be the LegalTech platform replacing legacy research platforms. It wants to be the foundational data layer for any organisation building legal technology by supplying them with accurate and structured legal data through its API. "We believe the next generation of legal products will only be as good as the data they are built on. To create systems legal professionals can truly trust, that data needs to be structured and optimised from the ground up for AI agents and other AI systems. That is what we work on every day at Pandektes," added Laursen. The new capital will be used to expand the company's footprint across Europe and North America, with the aim of making cross-border legal research consistent and accessible. The company will also use the funding to grow its team and open its technology infrastructure through an API.

LexisNexis Starts MENA Rollout of Protégé Legal AI in the UAE.

LexisNexis Starts MENA Rollout of Protégé Legal AI in the UAE. Covering all seven emirates, the platform summarises Arabic and English case decisions and breaks complex legal tasks into reviewable steps. Get the hottest Fintech Middle East News once a month in your Inbox LexisNexis has launched Lexis+ with Protégé, its legal AI platform, in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The rollout starts in the UAE. The platform helps lawyers with research, analysis and drafting. The launch marks 16 years since LexisNexis brought its first legal research product to the region. Local legal professionals helped build and test the platform. Users can ask legal questions in plain language and get answers from LexisNexis sources. For larger tasks such as due diligence, the platform breaks the work into smaller steps. Users can then review each one. Lawyers can also draft contracts and memos, or upload their own documents to find key issues and build timelines. The platform can translate and summarise case decisions in Arabic and English. On privacy, the company said customer data is never used to train public AI models. Its content covers UAE federal law and all seven emirates, along with regulations and case decisions. This matters, LexisNexis said, because the region mixes federal and emirate laws, free-zone rules, and civil-law and common-law systems. The company sees trust as a bigger barrier to legal AI in MENA than adoption. It said general-purpose tools often lack the source transparency and confidentiality that legal work needs. "For legal teams in MENA, that means answers informed by the relevant jurisdiction, legal hierarchy and terminology. Lexis+(R) with Protégé(TM) brings that content together with AI workflows to support the way lawyers research, analyse and draft," said Lara Salem, Head of Content Strategy at LexisNexis Middle East. "MENA is moving decisively from exploring the potential of AI to putting it to work across high-value, professional environments," said Eric Bonnet-Maes, CEO of LexisNexis. LexisNexis is still testing the platform with local legal professionals. It plans to share validated regional performance data as it becomes available.
