  • An ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in a discipline-specific field of study such as Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience, preferably in a design firm setting.
Responsibilities
  • Work with a Project Manager on proposal development, man-hour planning, and project scheduling for the discipline scope of work on large, advanced, or complex projects.
  • Identify and resolve advanced non-compliant existing conditions during site walks and construction field surveys.
  • Develop construction drawing packages and write construction specifications on advanced and complex projects without oversight.
  • Provide lead and advanced support for construction activities, including RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch list development, and construction progress reports.
  • Conduct technical and leadership interviews.
  • Conduct quality checks of documents for advanced complex projects, including technical verification of design calculations and documentation, and drive overall project quality.
  • Provide mentorship to Discipline Engineers I through IV and Designers I through III.
  • Lead advanced project system design programming and master planning with support from a Senior Engineer.
  • Lead a team of discipline staff in executing advanced-project discipline design and engineering.
Desired Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer registration.
  • ISA Certified Automation Professional certification.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency in discipline-specific software.
  • Advanced knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices and/or experience with advanced-technology industry projects such as research and development laboratories, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, food and nutrition, or consumer products.
  • Attend external seminars and conferences for professional development.
  • Expert experience performing engineering calculations and developing and implementing lists of discipline systems designs.
  • Expert experience implementing fundamental design aspects of control-system schematics, panel-fabrication drawings, and field-wiring-plan design.
  • Expert experience developing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
  • Expert experience with the electrical code.
  • Advanced experience with other applicable industry standards.
  • Advanced experience with applicable mechanical and building codes.
  • Advanced experience and knowledge designing Safety Instrumented Systems.
  • Proficiency coordinating advanced internal and external cross-discipline project teams.
  • Proficiency coordinating with construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers.
  • Proficiency performing advanced design calculations without supervision.
