Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational or Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Industrial or Chemical Engineering or a related engineering field preferred.
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) other relevant local equivalent preferred.
  • 6+ years practical Environmental Health & Safety experience at a large global company with R&D and/or manufacturing operations and world class safety programs.
  • Detailed knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations and their state equivalents as well as other applicable global and industry environmental, health and safety standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop all components of successful and sustainable safety programs.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, sustain and improve comprehensive EHS management system and programs in support of the Nike EHS Policy and Global Standards.
  • Provide strategic oversight as well day to day EHS support to the various innovation labs, in collaboration with key business partners, continuously drive improvement in health and safety measures, instilling world class safety culture.
  • Develop programs and standards to ensure compliance with regulations (federal, state and local) consensus standards, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with innovation labs stakeholders on conducting risk assessment for new equipment, materials and other product innovation, design and development projects.
  • Participate in incident investigations, perform root cause analysis for all injuries and 'near misses,' train managers to conduct thorough investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Develop program and system for coordinating and conducting EHS training for all employees, contractors and site visitors; ensures proper training documentation and maintains training record files as indicated by Nike’s policy and regulatory requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with conducting machine safety risk assessments based on applicable machine safety standards.
  • Experience with developing and maintaining chemical/material safety program.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a business case in support of EHS initiative.
