About the job

Requirements
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience running thermal, computational fluid dynamics, and thermoelastic simulations, including steady-state and transient simulations, in electronics and semiconductor applications.
  • Experience and understanding of how design engineers’ workflows integrate with and depend on simulations.
  • Deep working knowledge of thermal management, including conduction, dissipation, and cooling, and thermoelastic stress and warpage analysis.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools such as Ansys Icepak and Mechanical, Siemens Flotherm, COMSOL Multiphysics, Cadence Celsius, Abaqus, SolidWorks Flow Simulation, SimScale, and Altair SimLab Electronics Thermal.
  • Familiarity with electronic design file formats and geometry inputs, including GDSII, OASIS, IPC-2581, ECXML, and STEP.
  • Ability to explain why engineers configure simulations as they do, the compromises they make with current tools, and where software workflows fail.
Responsibilities
  • Articulate customer simulation workflows, bottlenecks, and expectations to product, AI research, and engineering teams.
  • Map how customers use current tools for thermal, computational fluid dynamics, and thermoelastic analysis, and identify where legacy tools fail or force compromises.
  • Validate that Vinci’s outputs, user-interface and user-experience flows, and configuration paradigms—including complex ECAD, GDSII, and STEP inputs, layer stackups, and power maps—match production engineering expectations.
  • Support pre-sales and pilots by discussing prospects’ current simulation setups with simulation leads and demonstrating how Vinci accelerates simulation pipelines.
  • Serve as the customer proxy and internal domain authority, informing product direction, identifying upcoming feature needs, and ensuring the platform solves real physics problems for thermal engineers.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience as an Application Engineer, Field Application Engineer, or Technical Support Engineer at a major simulation vendor such as Ansys, Siemens EDA, Cadence, or Dassault.
  • Basic scripting experience, for example in Python.

About the company

VINCI is a global leader in concessions, energy, and construction. It handles large-scale infrastructure projects by planning, designing, and building facilities such as roads, bridges, buildings, and energy systems, and it also operates long-term concessions (like toll roads or airports) to manage and maintain these assets. Unlike many peers, VINCI combines construction capabilities with asset management and energy services across more than 100 countries, offering integrated solutions from project delivery to ongoing operation. Its differences come from its breadth of services, its ability to manage long-term infrastructure assets, and its commitment to sustainable development. VINCI’s goal is to build the future by delivering durable infrastructure and services that support economic growth and environmental stewardship.

Strong by Form raises $6.6M to scale sustainable wood building materials in Europe

Chilean startup Strong by Form has raised $6.6 million towards its $10 million to $15 million Series A target to establish a pilot manufacturing plant in Spain. The company transforms low-value wood into lightweight, durable construction materials. Founded eight years ago, Strong by Form's technology addresses building materials' contribution to 11% of global carbon emissions. Its flagship product, "woodflow core", delivers load-bearing capacity comparable to reinforced concrete whilst reducing weight, construction time and CO2 emissions. The round was led by US family office Boisei Investments, with participation from strategic backers including Vinci, one of Europe's largest construction companies. Other investors include Teampact, Ternel, Axel Carbon, VX Ventures and a Chilean family office. Strong by Form is also developing specialised products for European train operators.
