Requirements
  • Experience working in a contact or processing centre.
  • Experience processing data with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A professional telephone manner.
  • Knowledge of service centre processes, policies and procedures, including escalation procedures, service level agreements and client service standards.
  • Computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • The ability to communicate verbally and in writing and work confidently with customers and internal colleagues.
  • A track record of meeting and exceeding operational targets.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • The ability to work with colleagues to achieve targets and objectives.
  • Must demonstrate a pre-existing right to work and travel within the United Kingdom; documentary evidence is required.
  • Offers are subject to satisfactory vetting, references and occupational health checks.
  • A Disclosure and Barring Service check may be required depending on the nature of the role.
Responsibilities
  • Receive and input postal appeals into the CMS.
  • Gather data professionally and record it sufficiently and accurately in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all appeal correspondence is available within a suitable timeframe.
  • Ensure evidence from both parties is attached to the correct case.
  • Liaise with appellants to ensure all required information is received.
  • Respond to and action queries from appellants and London Councils staff.
  • Identify the type of data or correspondence correctly, including notices of appeal, evidence from enforcement authorities or appellants, case-related correspondence and non-case-related correspondence.
  • File data and correspondence appropriately and cross-reference related documentation.
  • Prepare and distribute outgoing correspondence and reports from the system, electronically or in paper form.
  • Assist adjudicators with minor administrative functions relating to appeals, including providing unscannable evidence for their consideration on request.
  • Assist the service manager and senior officer with additional duties as required.
  • Deliver the NEC Appeals Service contract.
  • Work closely with the system administrator to ensure information is recorded and escalated.
  • Perform duties with minimum supervision.
  • Maintain attendance in line with the NEC attendance policy.
  • Act as an ambassador within the Business Centre and take on additional duties as required.
  • Attend relevant training and events to develop, refresh or update skills and knowledge, and travel off site when required.
  • Meet personal targets.
