  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in financial services, with direct exposure to derivatives clearing, prime brokerage, futures commission merchant operations, or broker-dealer risk management.
  • Demonstrated experience with central counterparty clearing operations, ideally at a CFTC-registered Designated Clearing Organization or SEC-registered Covered Clearing Agency.

  • Familiarity with SPAN margin methodology or comparable portfolio margining systems, and experience validating or interpreting margin model outputs.
  • Understanding of customer segregation rules, including CFTC Parts 1 and 22 and SEC Rule 15c3-3, and their impact on Clearing Member risk profiles.
  • Experience conducting financial statement analysis, credit risk assessment, and liquidity analysis of regulated financial institutions such as futures commission merchants, broker-dealers, and banks.
  • Experience reviewing regulatory financial filings such as FOCUS Reports, Form 1-FR-FCM, Net Capital computations, or equivalent notice filings.
  • Ability to evaluate counterparties’ risk management frameworks and internal controls relative to their business activities and risk exposures.
  • Proficiency in Python for developing, maintaining, and validating production-level codebases, particularly for margin calculation, data validation, and file generation and distribution processes.

  • Comfort with SQL or similar tools for data extraction and analysis.
  • Experience participating in or coordinating default management simulations, tabletop exercises, or actual default events at a clearinghouse or similarly systemic financial institution.
  • Experience with enterprise risk management frameworks, including risk and control self-assessments, control testing, and risk tolerance or appetite frameworks.
  • Experience preparing memos, risk assessments, or recommendations for presentation to internal risk committees, senior management, and/or Boards of Directors.
  • Direct experience interacting with CFTC and/or SEC examiners, or supporting internal or external audit engagements, particularly around DCO Core Principles or CCA compliance standards such as Regulation SCI and SEC Rule 17Ad-22.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to translate technical risk findings into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across onboarding, ongoing monitoring, and ad hoc regulatory requests in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Sound judgment in escalating risk concerns and recommending protective measures, such as enhanced monitoring, additional margin, or restricted trading privileges.
  • A high degree of discretion when handling confidential futures commission merchant and/or broker-dealer financial data.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee financial and operational reviews of Futures Clearing Member and Broker Dealer Clearing Member applicants.
  • Ensure applicants’ risk management policies and procedures are appropriate for the risks presented by their various business lines.
  • Determine post-trade thresholds specific to each Clearing Member by regulatory origin based on the entity’s financial condition.
  • Prepare memos with recommendations based on observations from supporting documentation provided as part of applications, for internal and board-level committees.
  • Review daily exposure reports to identify positions that may present outsized or concentrated exposures compared to Clearing Members’ financial resources.
  • Monitor intraday alerts and determine appropriate follow-up with risk management personnel at Clearing Members based on underlying positions, current thresholds, and the most current financial information.
  • Maintain a Python codebase used to validate mid-day and end-of-day initial margin requirements, update the margin model based on current closing prices, and generate and distribute SPAN files.
  • Review daily and monthly financial and notice filings to maintain a current risk profile for each Clearing Member based on changes to business lines, customer activity, and financial condition; determine whether protective measures or enhanced monitoring should be imposed based on review results.
  • Coordinate tests of the Clearinghouse’s Default Management Plan by ensuring Clearing Members participate and all steps are documented.
  • Summarize the effectiveness of Default Management Plan tests for internal committees and the Board of Directors.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the Default Management Plan, draft updates, and implement changes for future tests or executions.
  • Periodically assess risks faced by the Clearinghouse, evaluate processes supporting its operations, and determine whether appropriate controls are in place.
  • Coordinate testing of existing controls to ensure effectiveness and report results to support effectiveness reviews.
  • Use control testing results and internal and external audit findings to support risk-factor scoring and determine whether risk factors are within applicable risk tolerances.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Clearing Member onboarding, ongoing monitoring, default management, and Clearinghouse enterprise risk management when responding to internal audit and CFTC and SEC audit requests.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with statistical or quantitative risk modeling concepts, including value at risk, stress testing, and margin backtesting.
  • Familiarity with the COSO Enterprise Risk Management framework or an equivalent structured risk governance methodology.

Cboe shares jump 12.1% as S&P 500 options licence extended to 2051 and KPI binaries planned

Cboe Global Markets extended its exclusive licence for S&P 500 Index options with S&P Dow Jones Indices through 2051. The 25-year renewal reduces the risk of losing its flagship index options business. Cboe also plans to launch binary contracts tied to company-specific key performance indicators. They would initially cover 23 major US-listed stocks and be cleared through Cboe Clear U.S., subject to regulatory approval by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Cboe shares are up 12.1% after the announcements. The KPI contracts look incremental rather than a near-term earnings driver. Competition and fee pressure remain risks to Cboe's core economics.

Cboe and Nasdaq on track for record options trading volume for seventh consecutive year

The US options market is set for a seventh consecutive record year, with leading exchange operators Cboe Global Markets and Nasdaq reporting strong growth. Cboe posted record second-quarter 2026 results, with net revenue rising 25% year-over-year to $732 million. Its derivatives business drove growth, with index options average daily volume up 32% to 6.2 million contracts. Nasdaq reported $1.5 billion in net revenue for the same period, up 15%. Its index options revenue more than doubled for the fourth straight quarter, whilst index exchange-traded product assets under management crossed $1 trillion. Both exchanges are expanding beyond core offerings. Cboe recently launched Cboe Predicts, featuring binary options on the Mini-S&P 500 Index. It's also developing company-specific key performance indicator contracts, pending regulatory approval.

Cboe Global Markets raises 2026 outlook after Q2 revenue hits record $731.6M

Cboe Global Markets reported strong Q2 fiscal 2026 results on 31 July, with net revenue rising 24.6% to a record $731.6 million. The Chicago-based exchange operator's adjusted diluted earnings per share increased 44.7% to $3.56, driven by a 30% surge in Options segment revenue. The company raised its 2026 organic total net revenue growth guidance to "mid to high teens" from "low double-digit to mid-teens". Analysts expect diluted EPS to grow 29.2% year-over-year to $13.78 for fiscal 2026. Cboe Global Markets raises quarterly dividend 19% to $0.86, marking 16th consecutive annual increase

Cboe Global Markets has raised its quarterly dividend to $0.86 per share for the third quarter of 2026, up from $0.72. The payment will be made on 15 September 2026 to shareholders of record on 31 August 2026. This marks the 16th consecutive year of dividend increases. The 19% rise reinforces the company's commitment to returning cash to shareholders whilst it expands its clearing and trading services. The dividend growth accompanies Cboe Clear Europe's planned expansion into fixed-income lending through its Securities Financing Transactions service. However, analysts note the company remains heavily reliant on its S&P index options partnership, which presents a concentration risk. Community fair value estimates for the stock range from $143.58 to $317.71 per share, reflecting divergent views on the company's prospects.
