Field Service Engineer/Service Technician
About the job
- Ability to form and maintain close working relationships with colleagues and clients to provide the best possible service.
- Willingness and ability to work on one's own initiative.
- A full UK driving licence, at least 12 months of driving experience, and no more than 6 points on the licence.
- Customer-focused approach and a smart, professional appearance.
- Strong electrical knowledge or experience, demonstrated through practical work experience or an electrical qualification.
- Technical background with strong fault-finding and diagnosis skills.
- Awareness of how to work safely on electrical equipment.
- Applicants must have the right to work permanently in the UK.
- Diagnose and repair faults on traditional and bean-to-cup machines.
- Complete work at the first visit wherever possible, making every effort to prevent further breakdowns; if a return visit is necessary, carry it out at the soonest opportunity.
- Continually review equipment with multiple faults and prioritize repairs for machines with persistent breakdowns.
- Ensure access to the technical manuals and documentation relevant to the equipment being serviced or maintained.
- Attend training courses to maintain a high standard of workmanship.
- Maintain good customer relations by adopting a pleasant manner and following customer procedures, including site entry and exit procedures and applicable health and safety policies.
- Identify potential customer dissatisfaction and take appropriate action, such as repairing the machine or seeking assistance from a Senior Engineer or Service Manager.
- Maintain the company vehicle in a roadworthy condition according to company procedures and keep it clean and tidy inside and out.
