Responsibilities
  • Start up, commission, and recommission customer systems using pneumatic, electrical, and electronic technology.
  • Maintain accurate as-built drawing packages and make required changes in Visio, Excel, and Word.
  • Calibrate systems using electronic test equipment, including multimeters, network terminals, and laptop computers.
  • Perform static and dynamic commissioning of building automation software programming.
  • Set up operator workstations and associated software.
  • Manage the turnover process to service.
  • Track and record job progress and keep lead project personnel informed.
  • Keep project management informed of concerns and issues.
  • Complete timesheets, expense reports, work-order postings, on-site documentation, and project status reports on time.
  • Perform end-to-end testing, programming, startup, commissioning, and servicing on assigned projects and accounts.
  • Serve as the direct customer contact for assigned products and equipment, identifying, analyzing, diagnosing, and repairing equipment and systems at customer locations.
  • Coordinate with the Controls Manager, project managers, and customers to understand on-site installation and repair requirements by examining building layouts, updating issues, gathering materials, and synchronizing on-site work.
  • Maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets.
  • Maintain commissioning documentation, daily reports, as-built documents, and status reports.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships with company personnel, clients, subcontractors, and other trade contractors.
  • Perform point-to-point checkout, commissioning, diagnostic, and maintenance procedures on building automation systems, front-end workstations, servers, and electrical and pneumatic controls.
  • Troubleshoot and repair building automation system panels, communications equipment, printed circuit boards, power supplies, electrical and electronic controls, sensors, and transducers.
  • Edit computer programs for building automation system points, including conversion patterns, point acronyms, and alarm specifications.
  • Consult with the Project Manager regarding scope additions and deductions, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Review contract documents and reconcile them with requests for information and project correspondence regarding approved additional scope.
  • Assist with commissioning, startup procedures, and owner training as needed.
  • Prepare sketches showing as-built wiring and equipment locations.
  • Attend project meetings as necessary.
  • Continually enforce safety standards.
  • Confirm project scope with the Project Manager after reviewing contract documents and approved additional-scope correspondence.
