  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Six or more years of progressive compensation experience, including hands-on work with benchmarking, salary structures, and job leveling, or four or more years of experience with a Master's degree.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or heavily contributing to survey participation and market pricing processes.
  • Experience building or maintaining job architecture or leveling frameworks, such as career ladders and job families.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills, with experience using human resources information systems such as Workday and compensation survey tools such as Radford and Mercer.
  • The ability to explain compensation concepts to non-specialist audiences through effective communication and consulting.
  • High attention to detail and comfort managing confidential, sensitive data.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the company's participation in third-party compensation surveys, ensuring accurate job matching and timely submission.
  • Own the annual and ad hoc market benchmarking process across all functions, evaluating pay competitiveness against relevant labor markets and peer groups.
  • Analyze survey results and market trends to recommend updates to pay ranges, incentive targets, and total compensation positioning.
  • Conduct periodic market competitiveness analyses using updated peer and pay data, and review job matches to identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain a library of market data sources and evaluate new survey providers as needed.
  • Design, build, and maintain salary structures, pay grades, and geographic differentials in alignment with market data and business strategy.
  • Lead job evaluation and leveling for new and existing roles, ensuring internal equity and consistent application of leveling criteria.
  • Advise on job architecture and compensation data accuracy within human resources systems such as Workday.
  • Support annual compensation planning cycles, including merit and promotion planning, with structure and range updates.
  • Lead the end-to-end Workday Advanced Compensation process from planning and launch through finalization, project debrief, and enhancements or process improvements.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure merit and promotion configurations are reviewed, tested, and working as expected.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert and go-to person for HR Business Partner questions and requests.
  • Represent Samsung Electronics America in regional meetings.
  • Partner with headquarters on ad hoc and special requests, such as market data inquiries.
  • Serve as the compensation contact for compensation consulting companies and survey providers, including Aon Radford, Willis Towers Watson, Mercer, and ERI.
  • Manage the administration of Acting Allowance and long-term incentive planning cycles for grant refreshers and payout of prior grants.
  • Serve as the dedicated compensation partner to a designated line of business and primary point of contact for compensation matters.
  • Advise HR Business Partners and business leaders on offer development, promotions, internal equity, and pay decisions.
  • Educate managers and HR partners on compensation philosophy, tools, and processes to support consistent, defensible pay decisions.
  • Provide compensation analysis and recommendations for organizational design changes, restructures, and new role creation within the supported business.
  • Ensure compensation practices comply with relevant pay equity and pay transparency regulations.
  • Contribute to the development of compensation guidelines, tools, and training materials.
  • Develop process improvement initiatives and compensation tools.
  • Identify opportunities to improve compensation processes, tools, and data quality.
  • Partner with Legal and Total Rewards leadership on pay equity analyses and remediation as needed.
  • Stay current on relevant artificial intelligence tools and methods, and use artificial intelligence to streamline work and identify capability-building opportunities.

MediaTek announced its flagship Dimensity 9500 platform powers Samsung's new Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+ tablets. The chip, built on TSMC's 3nm process, features an All Big Core CPU architecture, MediaTek NPU 990, and Generative AI Engine 2.0 for on-device AI capabilities. The platform includes a 12-core GPU with hardware-accelerated raytracing and Unreal Engine 5.5+ support for gaming and entertainment. MediaTek and Samsung emphasise the chip delivers flagship performance whilst maintaining power efficiency in a fanless design. Samsung invests $1B in Helix Digital Infrastructure for global AI buildout

Samsung has committed $1 billion to Helix Digital Infrastructure, an AI infrastructure company formed by KKR. The investment adds to more than $10 billion already committed to Helix by founding investors including KKR, the Kuwait Investment Authority, NVIDIA, and Vistra. US chip industry faces 157,000 worker shortage by 2030 as Samsung, TSMC scramble for talent

The US semiconductor industry faces a critical shortage of up to 157,000 skilled workers by 2030, according to a McKinsey and SEMI Foundation report. This labour crisis affects major chipmakers including Samsung, TSMC, and Micron as they expand US manufacturing facilities. Only 3% of US engineering graduates enter the semiconductor sector annually, whilst 73% of chip employers report significant difficulty filling engineering roles. Companies are responding by recruiting aggressively in Asia, where talent pipelines are stronger and worker bonuses can exceed $500,000. Samsung is investing $35 billion in Texas facilities expected to create 3,500 jobs.
