About the job
- At least 7 years of hands-on inspection experience.
- At least 7 years of experience working in quality within the aerospace or defense industry.
- At least 7 years of practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on machined parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies.
- At least 7 years of experience performing inspections to engineering requirements specified by ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing or an equivalent standard.
- At least 7 years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and purchase orders.
- At least 7 years of experience using mechanical inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- At least 7 years of experience performing First Article Inspections in accordance with the AS9102 standard.
- United States citizenship is required.
- Travel to various supplier facilities to perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies.
- Inspect parts against engineering drawings, customer purchase orders, industry standards, and specifications.
- Report inspection acceptance or rejection information directly to the customer through a web application.
- Knowledge of applicable industry standards such as IPC-A-610 or an equivalent standard is highly desired.
- At least 5 years of experience performing inspections in aerospace or military/defense manufacturing.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel.
