Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver's license before employment.
Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects; walk and stand for long periods; perform physical labor in adverse field conditions; and demonstrate manual dexterity, multilimbed coordination, and stamina.
Must be able to follow verbal directions from supervisors.
Responsibilities
Operate equipment safely and appropriately, including excavators with rubber or steel tracks and hydraulically powered buckets.
Monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure machines are working properly.
Load trucks in a timely manner and assist with loading and unloading trucks and deliveries.
Excavate for underground utilities at various depths and percentages of pitch.
Follow hand signals, grade stakes, and other markings to operate machines according to specifications and safely and with quality.
Comply with company safety policies and procedures and Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations.
Work at heavy civil and highway construction sites in outside conditions, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, dust, and asphalt exposure.
Desired Qualifications
Construction industry experience is preferred.
Take full ownership of assigned projects and work independently.
Experience with excavations, heavy lifting, and stockpiling.

Job Description
Summary/Objective
Operate equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. This position will work with excavators with rubber or steel track, equipped with hydraulically powered bucket to transport fill or materials.
Essential Functions
Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
Operates company equipment safely.
Loading of trucks in timely manner.
Excavate for various underground utilities at various depths and percentages of pitch.
Observe hand signals, grade stakes or other markings when operating machines so that work can be performed to specifications.

Understand and comply with all Company Safety policies and procedures as well as OSHA Regulations.

Supervisory Requirements
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This is field based role. Employee will be working on heavy civil and highway construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
Physical Demands
The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects and uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multilimbed coordination. The employee must have excellent stamina.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. This position will occasionally require long hours and weekend work. Average +/-50 hours per week.
