Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Provide onsite coverage for a 24x7x365 mission-critical facility, protecting and supporting continuous operations.
  • Analyze, prioritize, and respond to alerts, notifications, and requests received through designated inboxes, phones, dashboards, and intake systems.
  • Perform advanced preventative maintenance, technical support, and break/fix repairs on technology such as printers, mobile devices, servers, network equipment, and storage equipment.
  • Review and execute standard operating procedures, document issues and process updates, and submit recommendations to improve procedures.
  • Lead incident response by coordinating technical resources, managing escalations, restoring service, conducting root cause analysis, documenting incident activities, and supporting post-incident reviews.
  • Coordinate and oversee third-party vendors performing maintenance or repair activities, validate work quality, ensure compliance with operational standards, and resolve service issues.
  • Coordinate, execute, and audit infrastructure changes while validating production readiness, minimizing operational risk, and ensuring successful implementation.
  • Prepare shift-handover documentation and orally review key events, outstanding tasks, and other important information with the next shift.
  • Coordinate daily operational activities, assign work, balance workloads, ensure appropriate staffing coverage, and provide technical leadership to Technology Operations Analysts during each shift.
  • Maintain accurate asset records within the Data Center Infrastructure Management system by documenting infrastructure, auditing inventory, and validating operational environments and asset information.
  • Oversee, coordinate, and perform rack integration activities, including hardware installation, structured copper and fiber cabling, cable management, equipment labeling, testing, asset validation, and documentation in accordance with enterprise standards.
  • Identify and suggest improvements to procedures.
  • Support data center capacity management by monitoring rack space, power utilization, structured cabling, and hardware placement to optimize infrastructure resources.
  • Mentor and coach junior associates while serving as the primary technical escalation point for operational issues.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between infrastructure teams, business partners, vendors, and support organizations to ensure operational needs are effectively met.
  • Monitor operational performance, analyze metrics and trends, recommend process improvements, and implement corrective actions to improve service quality and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor departmental workflow activities and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Ensure operational activities comply with enterprise security standards, audit requirements, change-management processes, and established operational procedures.
  • Perform routine data center inspections to verify operational readiness, identify issues, and maintain a safe and secure operating environment.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity exercises and recovery events while documenting results and identifying opportunities for operational improvement.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Four years of work experience leading technical or project teams with or without direct reports in a large matrixed retail organization.
  • Four years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
  • Four years of experience working in a data center.
  • Four years of experience working with third-party information technology vendors and/or systems solution providers.
  • Four years of information technology experience in the retail industry.
  • Four years of experience with information technology operational processes, including incident management, change management, and technical documentation.
  • Three years of Lowe's Operations experience.

  • Two years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure technologies, including servers, storage, networking, structured cabling, and Data Center Infrastructure Management/Configuration Management Database platforms.

Target raises dividend to $1.16, Lowe's to $1.25 as retailers defend payout streaks

Target raised its quarterly dividend to $1.16 from $1.14, whilst Lowe's increased its payout to $1.25 from $1.20. Both retailers reported second-quarter results on 19 August 2026. Target's increase follows a period of flat dividends and comes after a tariff refund boosted quarterly earnings. The company yields 2.8% and paid $518 million in dividends during the quarter. Chief financial officer Jim Lee stated the firm prioritises business investment first, dividends second, and buybacks last. Lowe's generated $3.1 billion in free cash flow against $673 million in dividends. However, the company faces balance sheet challenges, with negative shareholders' equity of $7.44 billion and debt-to-EBITDA of 3.0 times following recent acquisitions. Management aims to reduce leverage to 2.75 times by mid-2027. Lowe's yields 2.4%.

Major US retailers pocket $5B in tariff refunds as Walmart gets $2.9B, Target $994M, but shoppers see little benefit

Major US retailers have received over $5 billion in tariff refunds this week alone, with Walmart getting $2.9 billion, Target $994 million, and Home Depot $730 million. The Trump administration is refunding approximately $166 billion in tariff revenue after the Supreme Court struck down its sweeping tariff policy, having returned $100 billion so far. Despite studies showing consumers bore the brunt of initial tariff costs through higher prices, most companies are reinvesting the refunds rather than passing savings to shoppers. Retail executives indicated in earnings calls they plan to put the money back into their businesses. Consumers have filed class-action lawsuits against companies receiving refunds, but none have concluded. Americans have limited recourse to recover funds if companies don't voluntarily lower prices.

Lowe's CEO warns of cautious consumer spending amid macro and geopolitical uncertainty

Lowe's reported mixed second-quarter results, with revenue falling short of analyst expectations due to pressure on DIY consumer spending. The DIY segment represents 60-65% of Lowe's revenue. CEO Marvin Ellison cited several factors affecting consumer behaviour: customers remain cautious about discretionary spending due to macro and geopolitical uncertainty, plus higher fuel prices above $4 per gallon. Poor weather during Memorial Day and a highly promotional environment in July also impacted results. Despite challenges, Lowe's posted its fifth consecutive quarter of same-store sales growth at 0.2%, below Wall Street expectations. The pro business and online sales performed well, with online contributing 15% year-over-year growth. Lowe's has received $80 million in tariff refunds, with additional refunds expected by year-end. The company is carefully considering how to use these funds whilst avoiding overly promotional strategies.

Lowe's Q2 sales rise 8.3% to $26B, maintains full-year EPS outlook at $12.25

Lowe's reported second-quarter sales of $26 billion, up 8.3% year-over-year, with comparable sales rising 0.2%. The home improvement retailer saw growth in professional customers, online sales, and home services offset weaker discretionary DIY spending. Online sales jumped 15.7%, supported by higher traffic and the company's MyLowe AI tool, which has answered over 25 million customer questions. Customers using the tool convert at three times the rate of non-users. However, inflation, interest rates, and increased promotional competition pressured transactions and margins. Lowe's maintained its full-year outlook near the low end of prior guidance, expecting roughly flat comparable sales and adjusted EPS of approximately $12.25. Lowe's Q2 sales reach $26B with 0.2% comparable growth, updates 2026 outlook

Lowe's reported second quarter 2026 net earnings of $2.4 billion with diluted earnings per share of $4.27, matching the prior year. Total sales reached $26.0 billion, up from $24.0 billion in the second quarter of 2025. Comparable sales increased 0.2%, driven by strong performance in professional services and a 15.7% increase in online sales, offset by DIY market pressures. The company recognised $96 million in pre-tax expenses related to acquisitions of Foundation Building Materials and Artisan Design Group. Excluding these expenses, adjusted diluted EPS increased 1.6% to $4.40. Lowe's updated its full-year 2026 outlook, maintaining total sales guidance at $92.0 billion but lowering comparable sales expectations from up to 2% growth to flat. The company paid $673 million in dividends during the quarter and operated 1,761 stores as of 31 July 2026.
