Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with 4+ years of software development focused on equipment control involving robots and device integration, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Extensive experience developing embedded software for complex real-time systems involving control theory.
  • Proficiency in C++14/17 and experience with POSIX- and ANSI-compliant real-time operating systems and microcontroller units.
  • Experience using in-circuit emulators, debuggers, oscilloscopes, and electrical schematics.
  • Experience building robotics and motion-control solutions with PID loops, including a deep understanding of DC servo motors, BLDC motors, stepper motors, and multithreading.
  • Familiarity with bootloaders and memory management.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems and Python for scripting.
  • Fluency in UML for object-oriented analysis and design, including state machines.
  • Demonstrated experience using Fishbone (Ishikawa) diagrams, 5 Whys, Fault Tree Analysis, or similar methodologies.
  • Fluency in written and verbal English.
  • Willingness to travel 20%.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, document, and analyze software applications for company products.
  • Develop new programs and subprograms and enhance, modify, and correct existing software systems.
  • Design applications, write code, complete programming, and develop and execute testing and debugging routines.
  • Develop or execute project plans, budgets, and schedules when assigned.
  • Document work and results.
  • Act as a project engineer or leader when assigned, including handling proposals, project plans, schedules, work assignments, primary contact responsibilities, technical presentations, and cross-functional issue resolution.
  • Keep current with technical advances in embedded software and related fields.
  • Design and develop embedded software solutions spanning precision motion control, sensor integration, and mathematical algorithms.
  • Diagnose customer issues, document root-cause analyses, and provide workarounds and long-term fixes.
  • Champion best practices in embedded software engineering to support scalability, reliability, and industry-standard compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate machine vision and machine learning into embedded systems.
  • Use complete system knowledge to implement logic controlling multiple devices for safe and reliable wafer handling.
