About the job
- A Bachelor's degree in a qualified engineering field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eight years of network engineering experience, or an Associate's degree, high school diploma, or GED plus twelve years of general system engineering experience, or a Master's degree or higher in a qualified engineering field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus six years of systems engineering experience.
- Significant experience with Cisco and Arista configuration and sustainment.
- Familiarity with Latte'Art and supporting STE/STN and SSP compliance for those devices.
- Occasional travel to OCONUS locations and on-call availability for operational systems once up to speed.
- An IAT Level I certification or higher, such as A+, Network+, or SSCP.
- An active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- Configure network systems and support fielding new equipment at the main site and remote second- and third-party locations.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and update Cisco and Arista devices supporting mission-critical networking environments.
- Provide ongoing sustainment and troubleshooting for firewall appliances and crypto gear used by operational customers.
- Use Latte'Art to support STE/STN and SSP compliance activities, ensuring devices meet security and configuration standards.
- Review team chat and emails at the start of each day, then work through assigned JIRA tickets to support operational and sustainment tasks.
- Configure new systems in the lab, test upgrade configurations, and prepare equipment for deployment.
- Perform recurring SSP compliance tasks, including documentation updates, configuration validation, and audit preparation.
- Provide on-call support for operational systems and travel occasionally to OCONUS locations once fully trained.
- Work with civilian leads, contractors, and mission customers to support reliable network operations and successful fielding activities.
