Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing strongly preferred
  • License Registered Nurse required
  • 1-3 years related work experience required
  • Must have at least one year operating room nursing experience
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification
  • Basic familiarity with computers and ability to navigate in web-based applications
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct perioperative nursing care using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients and families
  • Use clinical judgment to identify patient needs, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes throughout the surgical experience
  • Coordinate patient care and guide assistive personnel to ensure safe, effective, efficient, and timely workflows
  • Build trusting, respectful relationships with patients and families through clear and compassionate communication
  • Advocate for patients and support their understanding of procedures, care plans, and recovery expectations
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the broader care team to meet patient needs and support positive outcomes
  • Maintain required annual education, including emergency skills and unit based competencies
  • Identify opportunities for professional growth and participate in development activities with educators and clinical specialists
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives that strengthen patient safety and care delivery
