Requirements
  • At least five consecutive years of employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five years.
  • Ability to use a computer for email communication.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher, as well as Adobe Acrobat and related tools and technology.
  • Three years of experience in maintenance, plant engineering, or nuclear plant operations with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related physical science; or seven years of such experience with an Associate of Applied Science degree in engineering or related physical science; or ten years of such experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in maintenance supervision or management at a Department of Energy nuclear facility.
  • Practical knowledge of nuclear maintenance and operations.
  • Familiarity with developing, reviewing, and issuing work control packages using technical reference documents to ensure maintenance work is task ready.
  • Experience developing schedules and conducting manpower planning.
  • Experience managing facility maintenance resources to ensure work scope is completed and schedules are met.
  • Experience with Asset Suite and Microsoft Word.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to qualify for Facility Access Authorization, also referred to as Employment Authorization, by the U.S. Government's designated Security Office.
  • Ability to submit to and qualify for background investigative requirements up to a Top Secret or Department of Energy Q clearance.
  • Ability to work a 40-hour work week.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Develop scopes and prepare work activities.
  • Mentor existing Maintenance First Line Managers.
  • Ensure task readiness.
  • Ensure schedules are logically correct and include applicable work package approvals, pre-job briefings, lockouts and tagouts, Limiting Conditions for Operation, and post-maintenance tests.
  • Meet with the Work Window Coordinator and Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance personnel to review, evaluate, and resolve maintenance schedule impacts.
  • Review and approve work packages, lockouts, procedures, and related documentation.
  • Interface with Engineering, RCO, and other support groups to ensure adequate support for field activities.
  • Evaluate and improve individual mechanic performance.
Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Department of Energy, Savannah River Remediation, and Savannah River Site operating policies, rules, and regulations.
