Requirements
  • Consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five years.
  • At least one year of relevant experience.
  • Ability to use a computer to communicate via email.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and related tools and technology required for the position.
  • Skills and knowledge of the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act necessary to process claims, evaluate needed information, and refer claims to the necessary Hanford Site contractors for partial submittals.
  • Appropriate records management experience or ongoing Federal records management training.
  • Ability to obtain a Q clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • High school diploma.
Responsibilities
  • Support the EEOICPA Program Manager and project lead in all phases of program implementation.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing EEOICPA claims.
  • Prepare verifications of employment.
  • Provide support for data capture requests from the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, Department of Labor, and other involved parties.
  • Assist in completing Department of Energy requirements to support the Department of Labor and National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health during on-site data capture visits and in preparing for those visits.
  • Escort visitors to classified meetings.
  • Assist in documenting data captures.
  • Provide administrative or basic technical support during data capture visits.
  • Assist in compiling and reporting consolidated monthly cost expense reports to the Department of Energy headquarters.
  • Review and analyze personnel records for relevant information and prepare summary documents.
  • Compile complete claim packages, including employment verifications, evaluate them for completeness, and process claims for the requesting agency after receiving information from on-site personnel.
  • Use automated tools to track and report on claim and data-request processing.
  • Scan documents into electronic format and manipulate and consolidate electronic files.
  • Log documents and boxes into an established tracking system.
  • Move records boxes within the work area to stage them accurately for various work processes.
  • Scan personnel, medical, and claim records from paper and electronic formats and merge or consolidate scanned files.
  • Provide typing, scanning, and records-management support for EEOICPA claims and related functions.
  • Create documents, lists, and indices from various sources.
  • Perform other miscellaneous technical support duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio.
  • Ability to quickly learn other business tools and technologies as necessary.
