  • A Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Experience in program development and implementation is required.
  • Able to initiate, develop, and manage multiple projects and programs independently and simultaneously, and work independently.
  • Must be able to travel and work evenings and weekends.
  • Must have strong organizational and decision-making skills and be able to play either a leading or supporting role.
  • Must be able to appreciate and understand culturally and internationally diverse student populations and possess knowledge of international educational credentials.
  • Proficient in the use of computer programs.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct extensive research in Arkansas and designated surrounding states to assess the needs of under-represented and economically disadvantaged student populations in K-12 and pre-med programs.
  • Create, develop, and execute on- and off-campus pipeline programs, including workshops, leadership development, tours, professional development, science and math preparation courses, cultural events and activities, and support and training on applying to medical school.
  • Develop, cultivate, and maintain relationships with school district superintendents, school administrators and faculty, pre-med advisors, BS/DO and Pathway program coordinators, AACOM representatives, and NAAHP/SAAHP representatives to recruit K-12 and pre-med candidates.
  • Create, implement, and maintain an assessment program for recruitment, retention, and tracking of pipeline program outcomes and participants.
  • Attend strategic recruitment events and collaborate with admissions staff to develop pipeline and pathway conversations with key stakeholders and undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with NYITCOM staff and faculty.
  • Organize and manage the Outreach Mentor Program and Student Ambassador Education Team, developing outreach and education opportunities for student doctors and coordinating with the Director of Community Outreach and/or Director of Admissions.
  • Research and identify federal, state, and private funding sources for student preparation programs.
  • Train and supervise student assistants and others as assigned.
  • Attend program meetings, serve on committees and work groups as requested, refer students to appropriate staff, faculty, or programs for support, and coordinate with Student Administration and Academic Affairs staff to create pathways to pre-matriculation and other support programs.
