  • CWI certification.
  • At least 5 years of quality assurance/quality control inspection experience.
  • A current driver's license.
  • Ability to travel across North Carolina to cover projects in various areas.
  • Ability to organize files and paperwork while maintaining good documentation practices.
  • In-depth understanding of ASME codes and state regulations, including the ability to navigate local, state, and national codes.
  • Willingness to teach and coach others to improve.
  • Full understanding of weld log, weld map, continuity log, and weld procedure requirements.
  • Ability to communicate with people of different backgrounds, personalities, and understanding levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and contracts.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to create and track non-conformance reports (NCRs).
  • Ability to use multiple software platforms.
  • Ability to investigate quality control functions involving piping, ductwork, or other heating, ventilation, and air conditioning items for craftsmanship and adherence to project drawings, specifications, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Ability to work in environments involving high or precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, electrical shock risk, vibration, and temperatures ranging from cold to hot.
  • Ability to handle, reach, coordinate, stand, walk, sit, bend, kneel, crouch, and balance as required.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and hear.
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds for extended periods as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Perform essential functions as a Certified Weld Inspector on selected projects.
  • Review weld maps, welder certifications, weld logs, and continuity logs.
  • Assist with on-site visual verification as necessary.
  • Perform other project quality-related activities for projects within the assigned portfolio.
  • Manage QA/QC validators assigned to the project and the manpower required for this.
  • Oversee the quality of production from welders assigned to the project and ensure weld procedures are followed.
  • Assist the team in developing or maintaining the site-specific QA/QC manual where required.
  • Create job-specific weld logs and naming conventions for weld maps according to standard procedures.
  • Ensure specifications, codes, standards, and contract documents are met.
  • Assist project teams with coordination of drawings, isometrics, and weld maps.
  • Maintain certification, calibration, and continuity logs for the assigned project with the Construction Administrator.
  • Participate in meetings as necessary.
  • Ensure all work at the project jobsite meets project requirements and is completed in a workmanlike manner.
  • Ensure that non-conformance reports remain open until the task is completed and signed off by a supervisor.
  • Perform other duties required for project success.
