  • A Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training is required.
  • Graduation from a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education is required.
  • An unrestricted state license, registration, or certification to provide Athletic Trainer healthcare within the applicable scope of practice is required.
  • A passing score from the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer is required.
  • A National Provider Identifier is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification from an approved American Heart Association or American Red Cross course is required.
  • At least two years of relevant Athletic Trainer work experience within the last five years is required.
  • Experience working with high school, collegiate, or professional sports, military, performing arts, and/or occupational health is required.
  • Experience developing and executing environment-specific functional injury-control and health and well-being programs for groups of athletes is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • The candidate must be able to pass a background check and drug screen and maintain current physical and immunizations.
  • The candidate must be able to lift and manipulate loads or weights up to 20 kilograms/45 pounds.
  • The candidate must be able to work a 40-hour workweek or 80 hours within a two-week period, including schedule changes and occasional weekends as required by training schedules.
Responsibilities
  • Provide forward musculoskeletal care, early medical intervention, injury prevention, and performance optimization services in fitness centers, brigade, battalion, company, administrative, outdoor, range, field-training, and Soldier Performance Readiness Center settings.
  • Partner with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nutritionists, strength and conditioning coaches, and cognitive performance specialists to support Holistic Health and Fitness and brigade mission objectives.
  • Deliver prevention-focused care, acute injury management, and rehabilitation for musculoskeletal injuries.
  • Implement performance optimization strategies addressing the five Holistic Health and Fitness domains: physical, mental, nutritional, sleep, and spiritual.
  • Improve soldier performance, Army Combat Fitness Test pass rates, and resilience across the unit.
  • Observe brigade and subordinate training events, including shooting ranges, obstacle courses, and combative training areas.
  • Communicate with trainees, staff, and other Athletic Trainers orally and in writing.
  • Prepare, teach, and share educational materials to reduce and mitigate injuries and increase soldier performance.
  • Document patient care using proprietary healthcare and government software.
  • Participate in government-based education and installation-mandated in-service training.
  • Complete continuing education needed for Athletic Trainer license or certification renewal.
