Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality student instruction.
  • Evaluate student performance through written assignments, examinations, and in-class activities.

  • Explore how genetic and genomic information can affect the medical management of patients.
  • Explore how genetic diagnostic products are designed, validated, and approved.
  • Discuss the uses of whole genome, whole exome, and targeted sequencing approaches in clinical settings.
  • Discuss the role of precision therapeutics and pharmacogenomics in patient care.
  • Explore the utility of gene therapy and genome editing, including ethical and regulatory considerations.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. is preferred.
  • Prior experience teaching for active learning is preferred.
  • Experience with the Canvas learning management system is a plus.
  • An integrated, team-based approach to learning is especially desired.

New program provides path to pharmaceutical education. * 14 hrs ago Keck Graduate Institute and Glendale Community College have announced a new partnership designed to expand access to pharmacy education through KGI's CC to PharmD pathway. The agreement creates a clear and supportive route for GCC students to transition into KGI's Doctor of Pharmacy program, or PharmD, beginning this fall, helping students save money and time on their way to their career as a pharmacist. "This partnership reflects our commitment to creating accessible, high-impact pathways for students who know they want to be pharmacists to begin their journey sooner," said Derick Han, Keck professor of biopharmaceutical sciences and interim dean of KGI's School of Pharmacy. "By working closely with Glendale Community College, we are expanding opportunities for students while strengthening the pipeline of future pharmacists prepared to lead in an evolving healthcare landscape." Through this pathway, GCC students gain access to a range of admissions and financial benefits. Eligible students who meet KGI's requirements and achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.0 will receive a transfer admission guarantee (TAG) to the PharmD program. Students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher may also qualify for a TAG scholarship of up to $20,000. Additional benefits include an application fee waiver, expedited application review, and access to select KGI summer programs. "We are excited to open this pathway for students to achieve meaningful careers in pharmacy and healthcare. For students who already see themselves serving patients and communities as pharmacists, this partnership with KGI makes that goal more accessible and attainable," said Jeremy Talaoc, GCC Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. "By beginning at GCC, students can complete key prerequisite coursework while receiving the guidance and support they need to take the next step into KGI's PharmD program." Terasaki Institute and Keck Graduate Institute launch partnership to advance biomedical innovation. New collaboration expands interdisciplinary research, shared facilities, and graduate training opportunities in the life sciences Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation Los Angeles, CA - March 9, 2026 - The Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation (TIBI) and Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) have announced a new collaborative research partnership designed to accelerate biomedical innovation through joint research programs, faculty collaboration, and expanded student training opportunities. The agreement establishes a framework for long-term collaboration between the two Southern California institutions, enabling interdisciplinary research initiatives, reciprocal faculty affiliations, shared laboratory infrastructure, and expanded educational programs. The collaboration will support research across multiple areas of biomedical innovation, including biomaterials, cell engineering, drug delivery technologies, medical devices, and personalized medicine. "This partnership reflects our shared commitment to advancing scientific discovery through collaboration," said Stewart Han, President of the Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation. "By combining the complementary expertise of our institutions, we can accelerate the development of technologies that improve patient care while providing meaningful research opportunities for students and scientists." The partnership will allow researchers from both institutions to pursue joint grant proposals, collaborative research projects, and co-authored publications. Scientists will also gain reciprocal access to specialized research infrastructure, including laboratory space, core instrumentation, libraries, and animal research facilities. The collaboration will also create new opportunities for PhD student training and mentorship. KGI doctoral students will have the opportunity to conduct research in Terasaki Institute laboratories under the supervision of principal investigators, strengthening hands-on research training and interdisciplinary collaboration. "Collaborative partnerships are essential to advancing innovation in the life sciences," said Dr. Loren Martin, Associate Vice Provost of Research, Innovation, and Partnerships at Keck Graduate Institute.
