Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in security administration, risk management, criminology, public administration, or industrial security administration, including direct responsibility for planning, coordinating, and executing security operations for high-profile events, international travel, or multinational operations.
  • At least 3 years of experience planning, managing, and executing security measures for major events involving VIPs, senior leadership, or large-scale international operations.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and site security surveys and coordinating with local law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and emergency responders.
  • Possession of a recognized risk management certification, such as PMP, CRMP, or an equivalent qualification, or another relevant security-related qualification.
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting security-related information from Open-Source Intelligence and other classified or unclassified sources.
  • Ability to develop comprehensive security briefings, risk assessments, and incident reports for senior leadership and operational teams.
  • Ability to engage effectively with senior leadership, internal teams, external security agencies, and local law enforcement while coordinating security measures and maintaining communication during mission execution.
  • English proficiency in accordance with STANAG 6001, Standardized Linguistic Profile 3333, covering listening, speaking, reading, and writing, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, security databases, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Ability to use online resources for Open-Source Intelligence gathering and digital platforms for security planning, coordination, documentation, and reporting.
  • Ability to work fully onsite based on client needs.
  • Active NATO or National Secret clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze ACT travel data to identify high-risk destinations and critical travel locations.
  • Collect and assess security information from open-source intelligence, classified reporting, and local security advisories.
  • Conduct risk assessments, security audits, and site surveys to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop security plans and mitigation strategies in accordance with NATO security policies and procedures.
  • Assess attendee information involving non-NATO participants to identify counterintelligence risks.
  • Develop and deliver security briefings, risk assessments, and security recommendations for travelers, senior leaders, event planners, and NATO stakeholders.
  • Prepare security briefs for senior management approval.
  • Coordinate security requirements for Diamond Events and external missions with local authorities, law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and international organizations.
  • Support security logistics, site assessments, and emergency response planning.
  • Harmonize local security procedures with NATO requirements.
  • Provide onsite security support and oversight at host venues, including Delegate Assistance Centres, registration desks, and check-in locations.
  • Prepare After-Action Reports, post-event analyses, lessons-learned products, and historical security documentation.
  • Incorporate lessons and security observations into future planning and risk-management activities with the Force Protection team.
  • Maintain compliance with NATO documentation standards for security-related reports, briefings, incidents, and lessons learned.
  • Provide ongoing consultation to Force Protection personnel, NATO Command leadership, event planners, and internal stakeholders regarding security requirements, operational priorities, and risk management.

  • Additional certifications in counterterrorism or crisis management are considered an asset.

SPA taps Raj Badhwar as CIO. On January 28, Systems Planning & Analysis (SPA) announced that Raj Badhwar has joined the company as chief information officer (CIO). Badhwar serves on SPA's executive leadership team and reports to Chief Executive Officer Rich Sawchak. As CIO, Badhwar leads SPA's enterprise information technology (IT) organization, including digital strategy, architecture, engineering, operations, data management, and business intelligence.
