Requirements
- A Doctor of Pharmacy degree is required.
- A Pharm.D. degree with postgraduate training consisting of a PGY-1 and PGY-2 residency or fellowship, or equivalent clinical experience, is required.
- Applicants must be eligible for licensure in the state of New York.
- Applicants must demonstrate the ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty, and colleagues.
- Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, practice, and scholarship.
- Applicants must have strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Applicants must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop an innovative clinical practice in an inpatient or ambulatory care setting.
- Serve as a preceptor and role model for students during introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experiences.
- Provide didactic classroom teaching and recitation instruction on campus.
- Serve on college committees and attend and participate in departmental meetings.
- Perform other faculty duties as appropriate.
- Contribute to new knowledge through research activities, poster presentations, publications, obtaining grants and/or contracts, clinical trials, and other scholarly work.
- Provide reports and other documents as requested by Department Chairs, Directors, and Deans.
- Use computers extensively and spend extensive time sitting and standing; lift up to 5 pounds.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous academic experience is preferred.
- Board certification in an area appropriate for the applicant’s training and experience, such as Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist or Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist, is preferred.
