About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 15 years of professional experience across some combination of pharma or life sciences, AI/ML product strategy, and product management or strategy roles in technology-led organizations.
  • A track record of taking at least one technology or AI initiative from problem framing through executive funding and into delivery.
  • Hands-on work with data foundations used in pharma market research and competitive intelligence, including taxonomy, ontology, metadata management, common data model design, or KPI frameworks, applied to third-party datasets such as IQVIA or Komodo.
  • A track record of building or specifying knowledge graphs and conversational or agentic AI interfaces that deliver insights directly to business decision-makers.
  • Hands-on prototyping experience with modern AI/ML concepts, including large language models, agentic systems, digital workers, the machine learning lifecycle, and data and evaluation patterns.
  • A history of operating as an individual contributor without direct reports and influencing engineering and business teams through frameworks and documented decision criteria.
  • Prior responsibility for product management or product strategy, including opportunity sizing, roadmap development, prototyping, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Experience with the commercial analytics data landscape and the technology capabilities used to operationalize insights at scale.
  • Direct involvement in analyzing intelligence sources and delivering insights used in business planning or portfolio decisions.
  • A track record of building and maintaining knowledge bases spanning multiple commercial domains.
  • Prior responsibility for aggregating regional market intelligence into national or global insights used for decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and prioritize high-value AI opportunities across the insights acceleration lifecycle, from structuring primary and secondary market research, competitive intelligence, and third-party market data to exposing it through knowledge graphs and agentic AI interfaces; develop a global AI product portfolio ranked by impact, feasibility, and time-to-value.
  • Build rigorous business cases for executive and finance sponsors, quantifying cycle time saved, decisions accelerated, revenue uplift, cost avoided, and scientific productivity gained.
  • Develop domain pattern recognition in how market, competitive, and healthcare professional/patient data is organized and made usable for compliant, secure insight generation.
  • Own the Enterprise AI opportunity portfolio, maintaining a current view of in-flight, queued, and deprioritized opportunities and the rationale for each decision.
  • Build the framework, define success metrics, run analysis, and recommend engineering resource allocation when business units compete for the same resources.
  • Use evidence to reject opportunities that are unlikely to produce scalable outcomes, protecting engineering focus.
  • Partner strategically with forward-deployed, full-stack, and data engineering leads to translate ambiguous business problems into problem statements, prototypes, success metrics, and decision frameworks engineers can act on.
  • Shape engagements end to end by defining scope, success criteria, exit conditions, and scaling pathways before kickoff, then staying close as engineers execute.
  • Identify opportunities for reuse and platform leverage, and work with engineering to determine when one-off solutions should become reusable capabilities.
  • Design the human-digital split by determining which tasks digital workers own, where engineers and business users remain involved, and how evaluation and oversight ensure safe operation.
  • Run executive conversations with senior business and scientific leaders to turn ambiguous ambitions into concrete, fundable AI engagements.
  • Build sponsor coalitions to secure executive support, data access, and change-management commitment for engineering deployments.
  • Communicate the impact and value of AI work to the executive leadership team and board, connecting outcomes to patients, science, and shareholder impact.
  • Establish the value-realization framework Enterprise AI uses to measure impact across deployments.
  • Conduct post-mortems, capture lessons learned, and feed them into opportunity selection and engagement design.
  • Continuously refine the investment thesis on where AI is most valuable at GSK and where it is not.

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a forward-deployed engineering, applied AI, or AI lab/center-of-excellence role at a pharma, healthcare, or comparable regulated enterprise.
  • Background in management consulting, value engineering, or corporate strategy with hands-on technology experience.
  • Experience navigating GxP, regulatory, and data-governance requirements in pharma AI deployments.
  • Experience with pharma insights data foundation and knowledge platforms, such as master data management/data fabric tools (Reltio, Informatica, Palantir Foundry), graph databases (Neo4j, Amazon Neptune), or vector search/retrieval-augmented generation infrastructure.
