About the Job

Requirements

  • Strong practical knowledge of Linux system administration on physical machines, including networking, services, permissions, storage, logs, and recovery.
  • Experience automating provisioning, configuration, validation, deployment, and configuration drift detection.
  • Experience with embedded, edge, bare-metal, ARM, or hardware-integrated systems.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery, reproducible builds, dependency pinning, artifact management, versioning, and release engineering.
  • A defensive and pragmatic engineering mindset, with strong security awareness, clear communication, and low tolerance for silent failures.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a repeatable platform for edge devices, including CM4/CM5 companion computers, Ground Control Stations, continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, release processes, fleet inventory, and remote device management.
  • Keep code, operating systems, drivers, firmware, and machine configuration consistent across devices, with setup, validation, upgrades, and deployments automated, auditable, reproducible, and safe.
  • Build a one-command workflow for remotely setting up, updating, and validating companion computers, flight controllers, and Ground Control Stations.
  • Create a unified versioning and release model for operating systems, firmware, drivers, containers, configuration, and application software.
  • Develop a source of truth for fleet hardware, firmware, software, configuration, health, and connectivity.
  • Improve secure remote access, update, rollback, recovery, and device replacement processes.
  • Improve continuous integration and continuous delivery speed, reliability, and reproducibility by improving pipelines, artifacts, dependency pinning, releases, and Terraform-managed infrastructure.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Raspberry Pi Compute Modules, UAVs, robotics, companion computers, or Ground Control Stations.
  • Experience with Hailo accelerators, cameras, hardware inference platforms, or vendor-specific drivers and software development kits.
  • Experience managing fleets of physical or intermittently connected devices.
  • Experience with over-the-air updates, image-based provisioning, rollback, secure boot, artifact signing, or software bills of materials.
  • Experience with Ansible, Nix, Yocto, Buildroot, Terraform, or self-hosted continuous integration runners.

About the Company

Sentinel Eagle

Non-GNSS drone navigation for autonomous flight

Sentinel Eagle builds non-GNSS navigation systems for drones to operate when GPS is unavailable. Its technology lets a drone know its precise movement relative to the ground, even hundreds of meters above terrain, without relying on GNSS signals. How it works: onboard sensors and computer vision/tracking methods infer the vehicle’s motion and position relative to the ground to maintain stable and autonomous flight in GPS-denied environments. What sets Sentinel Eagle apart from competitors is its focus on absolute ground-relative motion in challenging terrain and its ability to provide reliable navigation where GPS fails, rather than improving GPS accuracy. The company’s goal is to enable autonomous drone operations in areas where GPS cannot be trusted or is absent, increasing safety, reliability, and mission capability for aerial operations.
