Requirements
  • BS in Engineering; Construction Management, or related field. Mechanical and/or related engineering concentration strongly preferred.
  • Progression from Project Engineer I to Project Engineer II, III, or a Senior role is based on performance, experience, and demonstrated leadership potential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Experience in Business Systems Software (JDE, IFS, BidTracer, FastEst, Bluebeam, Box, Smartsheet, etc.) is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Project Manager with writing proposals, letters, memos, subcontracts, change orders, and other documents related to project execution.
  • Assist with the development, maintenance, and submission of critical project documents including RFIs, Submittals, Procurement Logs, Shop Drawings, etc. under the Project Manager’s direction.
  • Coordinate and participate in regular meetings both internal and external (e.g. project kickoff meetings, BIM meetings, schedule meetings).
  • Perform estimating tasks such as taking off quantities, soliciting quotes from vendors and subcontractors, compiling complete bid estimates, and developing change order packages.
  • Manage job progress and quality onsite as required, including applying design and construction expertise to solve emergent operational and installation challenges.
  • Provide interpretation of technical plans and specifications.
  • Oversee purchasing processes including vendor and subcontractor buyout, procurement tracking, and delivery of purchased items.
  • Manage project financial responsibilities including installation tracking, labor forecasting, invoice review, and billing development.
  • Lead job closeout efforts such as submission of Operations and Maintenance manuals, Commissioning, As-Builts, Warranty processing, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management team to keep them informed on all issues affecting project timeline and budget; escalate problems to the Project Manager to drive resolution.
  • Utilize ACCO standard Engineering technologies, provide technical support for the construction effort including planning and design interpretation, value engineering and alternate solution reviews.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with ACCO partners outside the company including customers, prime contractors, trade partners, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Foster a strong relationship with ACCO’s internal departments (Construction, Fabrication Shops, Engineering, Accounting, Purchasing, Legal, etc.).
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor and/or upper management.
