Requirements
  • Strong overall experience in the regulatory domain with broad understanding of regulations, advocacy, standards, and overall ability to interpret regulations for product and schedule impact.
  • Great ability to synthesize regulations into strategies for product delivery roadmaps.
  • Exceptional collaborative leadership style with innate understanding of product development and sense of drive to deliver impeccable product experiences.
  • Exceptional program/project manager with impeccable organizational skills and attention to details, with at least 7 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated skills in project management tools, schedule development/management, and leadership experience.
  • You possess strong technical intuition and understanding of basic engineering concepts with ability to grasp complex design and process problems, while distilling them to their barest essences.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, harness the powers of teamwork, and relate to myriad technical partners.
  • Highly effective communicator, using both in spoken and written forms; sharp interpersonal skills who understand how to communicate across varied audiences in a climate of debate.
  • Sound executive presence with the strong ability to communicate at the senior leadership levels.
  • Strong hunger factor and courageous spirit with a proclivity towards action and creative problem-solving.
  • Calm under fire, high resilience and interest in complex problem-solving within a challenging and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel unrestricted, up to 10% of the time.
  • HW EPM experience, launching products, and driving new product development cycles.
  • B.S. in Engineering or Technical degree.
Responsibilities
  • Drive Strategic Regulatory progress inclusive of tracking Product Safety, Environmental, EMC, and Wireless standards/regulations and their impact to Apple’s business.
  • Develop, refine and uphold project schedules needed to ensure the continued development of our internal regulatory tracker.
  • Oversee issue and priority management efforts among Engineering Program Managers to drive data-driven decisions impacting product integrity, and ultimately Apple as a whole.
  • Communicate and deliver briefings and updates to senior engineering management and executives to enable rapid decision-making within Apple’s product development life cycle.
  • Work closely with cross-functional engineering and operations teams to develop plans to ensure compliance to required standards and regulations.
  • Manage key project management collaborative, tracking, and communications tools and systems; administer effective use of those systems to ensure established processes are followed.
  • Continually innovate in EPM process improvements and ensure the highest levels of project execution and rigor.
  • Support regulatory advocacy and engagements discussions (both internally and externally), influencing outcomes consistent with our priorities and strategies.
  • Create and collaborate to create strategies for regulatory delivery, advocacy, and principles working cross functionally across Apple and with key external partners or influencers.
Desired Qualifications
  • M.S. or PhD in Engineering or Technical degree with 7+ years of experience in a related field or industry.
  • Experience in international and/or regional Product Safety, Environmental, EMC, and Wireless standards/regulations, and/or government affairs are a big plus.
  • Experience in one or more of the following regulatory domains: AI/ML, Ecodesign, Product Environmental & Chemical Compliance, Biocompatibility, and Packaging Regulations.
