About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of commercial experience in analytics, data science, or business intelligence, with a track record of independently leading enterprise-scale, cross-functional analytical programmes with executive accountability.
  • Mastery of SQL, Python or R, and data visualisation tools, with extensive experience building, deploying, and operationalising production-quality analytical models at scale.
  • A track record of developing and executing analytics strategy aligned to business goals, shaping the strategic direction of an analytics function, and influencing executive-level organisational decision-making.
  • Ability to lead and deliver a portfolio of complex, high-impact projects simultaneously, managing timelines, stakeholder relationships, and scope across multiple workstreams with minimal oversight.
  • Expert statistical foundation, including experimental design (A/B and multivariate), causal inference methods (difference-in-differences and propensity score matching), regression modelling, clustering, forecasting, and econometrics.
  • Experience designing and deploying advanced segmentation, propensity, predictive, and causal models in a commercial environment, with evidence that these models drove measurable business impact.
  • Ability to operate as the most senior individual contributor in an analytics function by setting the analytical agenda, defining best practices, influencing executives, and driving enterprise-wide decisions through insight.
  • Ability to present complex quantitative work clearly and authoritatively to senior leadership audiences and lead senior-leader discussions without support.
  • Expertise in advanced modelling techniques, including supervised and unsupervised machine learning, Bayesian inference, survival analysis, and reinforcement learning applied to customer or wagering data.
  • Knowledge of major professional sports leagues, betting markets, U.S. sports wagering regulations, and the competitive iGaming landscape, and ability to translate this expertise into commercial advantage.
  • Experience mentoring and developing analysts across multiple seniority levels, shaping team capability, and contributing to the broader Data Analytics community without a formal management remit.
  • Working knowledge of cloud-based data platforms, including Snowflake and dbt, and experience leading data quality, governance, and pipeline optimisation initiatives with data engineering teams.
  • Business-standard use of English.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without immigration sponsorship.
  • Applicable gaming licensing by at least one jurisdictional agency, potentially multiple agencies depending on the position; candidates must complete applicable background checks and maintain required licensure.
  • Ability to comply with and support responsible gambling policies, procedures, and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the Sports analytics strategy, align it with corporate strategy and business goals, and focus analytics workstreams on business value rather than reporting.
  • Define and govern methodological standards for the Sports Analytics team, establishing scalable best practices for advanced modelling, statistical experimentation, measurement frameworks, and analytical quality across the Data team.
  • Lead the design and delivery of the team's most complex and high-impact analytical models, including propensity and predictive models, advanced segmentation frameworks, and bonus and promotional evaluation models that quantify margin and return on investment.
  • Innovate with machine learning, Bayesian inference, causal modelling, survival analysis, and real-time streaming analytics; oversee development of analytical tools and frameworks that extend team capabilities.
  • Serve as the organisational authority on sports wagering data structures, market logic, and bet type classification, advising engineering, trading, compliance, and product teams on critical decisions.
  • Drive enterprise-wide data quality initiatives with data engineering and architecture teams, leading workstreams on cataloguing, metadata, lineage tracking, and scalable extract, transform, load/extract, load, transform optimisation across sports and wagering data.
  • Scale analytical insights across trading, product, finance, operations, and compliance, operationalise analytical outputs, and drive changes across teams and technology based on recommendations.
  • Establish and champion the company-wide approach to statistical experimentation and impact measurement, advocate advanced causal modelling and econometrics, and develop impact models to quantify the return on investment of business initiatives.
  • Lead analysis of strategic commercial priorities, including high-value player economics, revenue concentration, VIP retention sensitivity, and the incremental impact of promotional mechanics and pricing changes.
  • Originate analytical opportunities beyond existing project scope and manage a portfolio of workstreams with executive stakeholder accountability, from statement of work through post-delivery relationship management.
  • Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and executive audiences, translating complex quantitative work into commercial narratives that drive organisational decisions.
  • Act as senior analytical adviser to commercial, product, trading, and finance leadership, shaping how data informs strategic decisions and advocating analytics-led change.
  • Lead and develop analysts across seniority levels, shape analytics team direction, mentor analysts on advanced techniques, and drive impact across the Data Analytics community.
  • Manage a portfolio of ongoing Sports-domain work, maintain trusted-adviser relationships with executive stakeholders after project completion, and identify future opportunities.
  • Lead change-management initiatives within the data department, oversee adoption of tools, methodologies, and processes, and promote continuous improvement and adaptability across the analytics function.
  • Build and scale automation solutions and self-service analytical capabilities to improve team efficiency and broaden organisational data access.

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a regulated sports betting or iGaming environment.
