About the job

Requirements
  • An Associate of Arts degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent education and experience, with emphasis on the laboratory procedures, techniques, equipment, and materials involved.
Responsibilities
  • Perform field testing and measurements at PG&E facilities throughout the service territory, including substation transformer testing, ground grid measurements, ground continuity testing, soil resistivity measurements, and substation failure analysis of electrical components.
  • Operate electrical test equipment, including Hi-pot, Megger, and Doble equipment.
  • Support onsite electrical testing activities in high-current and high-voltage laboratories.
  • Assist with equipment investigations and failure analysis work.
  • Perform high-voltage and high-current laboratory testing.
  • Fabricate and set up test fixtures.
  • Set up and operate test yards and laboratories.
  • Dismantle, disassemble, and dispose of equipment.
  • Provide material-handling and logistical support.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory and test equipment.
  • Work independently or as part of a two-person team when in the field.
Desired Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of electrical testing techniques, test equipment, and related materials.
  • Ability to work safely around electrical hazards and follow the ATS Quality Program and laboratory test procedures.
  • Two or more years of experience as an electrician, electrical technician, or in a similar role.
