About the job

Requirements
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience designing and shipping printed circuit boards, with strong analog and mixed-signal experience. Battery-powered product experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong board-level analog fundamentals, including filtering, noise budgets, grounding, shielding, and signal integrity, with demonstrated experience achieving defined noise and power targets in production products or validated prototypes.
  • Experience with high-density printed circuit board design, including fine-pitch BGA/WLCSP, 0201 components, multilayer stackups, and associated layout constraints, or demonstrated ability to develop these skills quickly.
  • Experience with switching power-converter design, including buck, boost, or flyback architectures.
  • Understanding of low-power electronics, including power-tree architecture, quiescent-current budgeting, and component selection against battery-life requirements.
  • Understanding of RF printed circuit board layout principles, including antenna keep-outs, impedance-controlled routing, and matching-network implementation.
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer, KiCad, Autodesk Fusion/Eagle, or equivalent printed circuit board design tools; Altium is used at Myant Health.
  • Experience with SPICE simulation, such as LTspice, TINA, or equivalent.
  • Sufficient embedded C experience to write and debug hardware bring-up code on 32-bit microcontrollers; Myant Health currently uses nRF platforms.
  • Comfort with standard electronic laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, and basic spectrum-analyzer functionality.
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills and the ability to move effectively between schematic, printed circuit board, laboratory, firmware, and physical prototype.
  • A hands-on approach to solving problems across circuit theory, printed circuit board layout, laboratory debugging, firmware bring-up, and physical prototypes.
  • Understanding that electronics for the human body must address noise, power, safety, miniaturization, manufacturability, wireless performance, textile interfaces, and regulatory requirements.
  • Rigor with engineering fundamentals, curiosity about new technologies, and comfort working collaboratively in a research and development environment across hardware, firmware, software, mechanical, textile, clinical, and product teams.
Responsibilities
  • Design analog and mixed-signal circuits for biosignal recording and stimulation applications.
  • Develop schematics and high-density printed circuit board layouts using Altium Designer.
  • Select and source components, including systems-on-chip, analog front ends, power-management integrated circuits, sensors, and supporting components.
  • Apply semiconductor reference designs, datasheets, and application notes appropriately, recognizing when deviations are justified and when they introduce unnecessary risk.
  • Develop multilayer boards with attention to signal integrity, power integrity, grounding, shielding, thermal considerations, and manufacturability.
  • Design for miniaturized wearable form factors, including fine-pitch BGA/WLCSP and 0201 components where appropriate.
  • Design and debug low-noise analog signal paths for biosignal acquisition.
  • Develop filtering, grounding, shielding, and noise-control strategies that achieve defined signal-quality targets.
  • Design power-tree architectures and perform quiescent-current and power-budget analysis against battery-life requirements.
  • Design and debug switching power supplies, including buck, boost, and flyback architectures.
  • Design RF interfaces with appropriate antenna keep-outs, controlled-impedance routing, and matching networks based on vendor recommendations.
  • Develop and characterize unconventional power and data transmission approaches over minimal textile conductors, including bias-tee architectures, injector/extractor networks, and filtering between power and signal paths.
  • Contribute to the design of high-voltage circuitry for body-worn electrical-stimulation applications.
  • Apply appropriate creepage, clearance, isolation, grounding, and layout practices when integrating high-voltage circuitry with sensitive analog electronics.
  • Support electrical-stimulation output-stage design, including H-bridge architectures, charge balancing, and patient-safety considerations.
  • Work within applicable medical-device safety requirements, including relevant portions of the IEC 60601 family of standards.
  • Perform board bring-up, including soldering, rework, instrumentation, debugging, and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Write initial embedded C firmware required to bring up and validate new hardware.
  • Develop scripted hardware tests and test automation in collaboration with the firmware team.
  • Use laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, electronic loads, and spectrum-analysis tools.
  • Validate designs through simulation, bench testing, rapid prototyping, and structured design verification.
  • Diagnose hardware/software interaction issues and work collaboratively across engineering disciplines to resolve them.
  • Prepare electrical design, manufacturing, assembly, and test documentation.
  • Drive printed circuit board designs through fabrication and assembly with contract manufacturers.
  • Participate in design reviews and communicate technical decisions clearly to engineering and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Build test fixtures and prototype assemblies to support product development and verification.
  • Support compliance and verification activities, including applicable IEC and IPC requirements.
  • Support mechanical, textile, firmware, and systems teams with electrical integration and prototype development.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of electrical design processes, documentation, testing, and engineering practices.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with battery-powered products.
  • Biosignal instrumentation experience, particularly ECG, EMG, EEG, GSR, or similar physiological signals.
  • Direct high-voltage design experience in the hundreds-of-volts range, including stimulation systems, high-voltage power supplies, or photoflash-class converters.
  • Electrical-stimulation output-stage experience, including H-bridge drivers, charge balancing, and patient-safety design.
  • Experience designing flex or rigid-flex printed circuit boards.
  • Experience combining power and data over shared conductors, including bias tees, PoDL/PoE, phantom power, coaxial bias-tee architectures, or similar approaches.
  • Experience with signal integrity over lossy, unconventional, or imperfect transmission channels.
  • Bluetooth Low Energy product-development experience.
  • Real-time operating system experience, particularly Zephyr.
  • Python experience for test automation and engineering tooling.
  • Experience developing products for regulated industries, with medical-device experience and IEC 60601 knowledge particularly valuable.
  • Experience working with textile-based electronics, conductive textiles, wearable sensors, or other body-worn electronics.
  • Experience taking an electrical design from early prototype through design verification and manufacturing.

What believers are saying

  • March 2026 NGen named Myant a lead partner for AI manufacturing.
  • Myant launched Care360 in March 2025 and expanded remote cardiac assessments in 2026.
  • Acquiring FIGUR8 in April 2026 broadened Myant into musculoskeletal analytics and recovery.

What critics are saying

  • Care360 revenue depends on reimbursement; Ontario coverage alone cannot fund national expansion.
  • FIGUR8, Bitnobi, mmHg, and AiQ integrations will distract engineering through 2026.
  • If clinical adoption stalls, Myant becomes a low-margin materials supplier with no software moat.

What makes Myant unique

  • Myant owns the textile-computing stack: fibers, sensors, garment design, and clinical software.
  • January 2026 AiQ integration gave Myant Taiwan manufacturing and Asian market access.
  • Care360 pairs Health Canada-licensed remote cardiac monitoring with direct-to-patient fulfillment.
