Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience managing large instrumentation and electrical construction projects.
  • Demonstrated success managing construction projects in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Working knowledge of project plans, specifications, owner contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, daily correspondence, drawings, submittals, and other project-related documents, with the ability to maintain complete and accurate as-built drawings.
  • Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk the property and laydown yards, and carry up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Assume overall responsibility for a profitable, well-constructed, safe project completed in a timely manner.
  • Review project proposals and pertinent documents with the project team and Director of Operations.
  • Determine cost-effective construction methods and use of personnel, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Review and approve subcontractor selections and invoicing.
  • Coordinate construction activities with the owner, subcontractors, and company personnel.
  • Manage project staff, including support staff, superintendents, project general foremen, and assistants.
  • Establish, promote, and enforce safety as a priority.
  • Ensure management is accurately informed of project costs compared with budgets through weekly labor and monthly budget reports.
  • Coordinate and direct budget estimating, purchasing, engineering, accounting, cost, and construction functions related to project completion.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with owners, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to facilitate construction activities.
  • Organize, conduct, and represent the company at regular project coordination meetings.
  • Review and approve subcontractor and vendor payment applications and miscellaneous invoices.
  • Negotiate, prepare, issue, and execute change orders, and revise the original budget when work changes or revisions occur.
  • Ensure timely and accurate billings and accounts receivable.
  • Ensure timely project completion through scheduling, expediting material deliveries, and managing material and document submittals and approvals.
  • Lead and participate in regularly scheduled project staff meetings.
  • Manage the project closeout process.
  • Enforce and adhere to policies and processes related to the position.
  • Participate on internal teams focused on continuous business improvement.

  • Estimating experience is a plus.
