Kicking off Earth Month with an IPA and initiative. Miramar-based Athletic Brewing releases Two For The Trails, launches "our Brews Give Back" campaign and teams with AllTrails guide. Athletic Brewing, America's largest dedicated non-alcoholic brewer, is celebrating Earth Month with the launch of the "Our Brews Give Back" campaign, highlighting its Two For The Trails environmental grant program. At the center of the month-long effort is Two For The Trails Milestone Edition IPA, a limited-time offering crafted to celebrate Athletic's namesake trail restoration program and the outdoor spaces it helps protect. The release reflects Athletic Brewing's ongoing commitment to protecting and restoring the outdoors. It is brewed with 100% Proximity ReGenMalt barley and hop varieties from the Hopsteiner Breeding Program, which have a significantly lower carbon footprint when compared to other varieties. With each sip, the brew serves as a reminder to step out and see where your trail leads. "The trails, parks and waterways we rely on don't preserve themselves," said Athletic co-founder and CEO Bill Shufelt. "Two For The Trails is our commitment to protecting access to the outdoors, because if we're not actively giving back, we risk losing the very places and experiences that bring us together." More than a limited release, the "Our Brews Give Back" campaign serves as a toast to trail restoration, marking the evolution of Two For The Trails from a simple tradition into one of the most impactful environmental initiatives in the craft brewing industry. Launched in 2018 with a $6,000 contribution to a single partner, Two For The Trails has grown into the largest annual environmental grant program in the craft brewing industry, now giving back up to $2 million annually to support conservation and outdoor access initiatives while prioritizing sustainable, low-impact and regenerative practices whenever possible. To date, the program has: * Invested $8.4 million in trail and outdoor projects * Supported 500-plus grant recipients * Funded work across 46 U.S. states and three countries In tandem with the launch of Two For The Trails Milestone Edition IPA, Athletic has teamed up with AllTrails, the world's largest digital trail guide, to launch the Two For The Trails Collection - a curated set of trails across the U.S., highlighting areas supported by Athletic's grant funding. The collaboration connects consumers directly to the places their support helps protect, reinforcing the brand's mission to keep the outdoors adventure-ready. Additional Earth Month initiatives include national retail programming and limited-edition merchandise designed for trail-ready performance and everyday exploration. Established as a founding principle of Athletic and rooted in a simple tradition of bringing two brews along for the hike, Two For The Trails has grown into a global effort supporting conservation nonprofits and hands-on environmental work - from invasive species removal and habitat restoration to waterway cleanups and disaster recovery. "Maintaining the outdoor spaces where we adventure isn't optional," added co-founder and COO John Walker. "Two For The Trails is how we put that belief into action, so every can of Athletic can be enjoyed in a world worth exploring." Athletic Brewing is on track to surpass $10 million in total contributions by the end of 2026, further solidifying its leadership in environmental stewardship. A Better way to find your next National Park trail. Discover how to hike national parks with expert guidance from AllTrails, enhancing your outdoor exploration experience. If you've ever planned a trip to a National Park, you may have used AllTrails to figure out which path to take. Now, that process is getting a bit more official. AllTrails just announced it is the new "Official Outdoor Exploration Partner" for Western National Parks (WNP). WNP is a nonprofit that works with over 70 different National Park sites across the West. They aren't the government, but they support the National Park Service by handling education, storytelling, and community programs. If you've ever bought a book or a map at a park visitor center, there's a good chance WNP helped get it there. Typically, trail applications provide maps and user reviews. This partnership aims to enhance the hiking experience by offering additional contextual information. AllTrails will sponsor the hiking and outdoor sections of the new WNP website. In addition to standard trail maps, users will have access to the following features: * Curated lists: Trail suggestions that match specific travel itineraries. * Better stories: Information about the Indigenous history and the specific plants or animals you might see in that area. * Family-friendly options: Specific picks for people who aren't looking to climb a mountain but still want a nice view. Discover more Mustang Mach-E The primary objective is to increase accessibility to these parks. Large parks such as Zion or Yellowstone can be overwhelming for visitors unfamiliar with the area. Integrating AllTrails' data with WNP's historical expertise enables visitors to make informed decisions prior to beginning their excursions. They are also looking at trail stewardship. This means using data to understand which trails are getting too much foot traffic and how to keep the land healthy. It's a way to make sure these places stay in good shape for the next person who visits. Over the next few months, you'll start seeing these changes on the WNP website and the AllTrails app. They're even planning some trail-themed events and giveaways for AllTrails Plus memberships, which let you download maps for when you inevitably lose cell service in the woods. If you're planning a trip out West for a little rest and inspiration, it's worth checking out the new guides. You might find a spot you didn't even know existed.
A little about AllTrails. AllTrails has beautiful, big hero images and detailing. At the same time, it has a minimalistic feel that ensures it is user-friendly and easy to navigate. The use of earth tones in the color palette is a nice nod to outdoor adventure. The SaaS industry was estimated at $408.21 billion in 2025, and projected to reach $1.25 trillion by 2034. Organizations with useful tools are likely to see growth based on the huge increases in projected revenue. The platform features over 500,000 curated trails and 90 million users. The sheer scope of their catalogue of trails is impressive. However, as you dig deeper you learn just how serious they take their advice. They even staff a medical advisor, a physician, to ensure they're categorizing trails. The company also contributes part of its annual revenue to organizations that work to conserve and protect the great outdoors, including Camping to Connect, The Conservation Alliance and Leave No Trace. Why AllTrails won a Designerly website design Award. The staff at Designerly use a pattern each month to select a winner. Obviously, Designerly can't scour through millions of websites at a time. What Designerly do is select a category, pull up information on the industry, narrow down options until Designerly hit a core specialization. Designerly then look at top-ranking sites as well as small businesses without as much traction. Designerly keep narrowing the selections based on things such as layout, user experience, navigation, color palettes, mobile-friendliness and typography. Once Designerly has three or four sites that excel in the basics, Designerly start looking at the more obscure things that make a site fabulous. AllTrails ranked high on all those things and also in overall feel and tone. A website that reflects the experience. You may remember a previous 2025 Designerly Award winner, Globus, a travel provider. Designerly praised them for creating a site that reflected the experience of going on one of their tours. Designerly see some similarities in the AllTrails site in this respect. Images of walking paths, people biking and sweeping landscapes set the tone. The simple layout of AllTrails ensures users can easily move from one section to the next. The design is based on a grid, with specific locations in convenient boxes with an image and description. Click on any and it opens into more detail. On each trail page is a limited number of options, including: * Overview * Conditions * Reviews * Hit the Trail * Nearby Click on the brand name and you return to the home page. The footer is also detailed enough to allow for quick navigation from the bottom of the page to the top. Mobile responsiveness. Because AllTrails is app-based, the mobile version works as well, if not better than the desktop. The site loads at lightning speed with undetectable lag times. Images scale down to suit a smaller screen perfectly. The site uses a sans serif font that makes the design clean, sharp and modern. A typographical hierarchy helps the user see at a glance which information is most important and how the site is laid out. You can land on the home page and immediately understand where to go next, making the site extremely user-friendly. As mentioned above, the site uses an earth-tone color palette. The choice of browns and greens works perfectly for a site dedicated to helping people spend more time outdoors on trails around the united states. The splash of lime green in the design is a pop of color that grabs reader interest. It also is repeated in the logo and on each page of the site, but only as an accent color. Another element that is subtle but can keep users on your site longer is a consistency throughout. Readers know what to expect as they load each section of your site. For example, AllTrails lists each trail on its own description page. At the top is a photo of the location, a map and a second, smaller image. Just under is the same info, including length of trail, elevation, estimated time to hike or bike and how many exits there are. The site also includes top sites in the area. At a glance, you can see if it is beginner-friendly, moderate or advanced. The site also features user reviews about the location, so you can get first-hand insight into the trail. AllTrails membership. The site is a membership-based one. While you can gather some details from the publicly published pages, if you want true insight, you must sign up for an account. This benefits the company because they now have your information for their mailing list and future communications. The site offers two plans. Plus is $35.99 per year. Peak costs $79.99 per year. Both plans feature a free seven day trial offer so you can see what you think. The base plan for the app is always free. You get a spot to make lists, save trails and navigation for the trails. Each of the other plans adds features like downloading offline maps, looking at tour photos along the trail and previewing terrain in 3D. What Designerly would do different. Content is still king. Designerly would add a blog section to this site and share helpful articles about what to pack on a hiking trip or bike ride, best bikes for different terrains, favorite moments from readers, and similar pieces of interest. Overall, AllTrails is a unique site that packs in a ton of value for little effort. Anyone who enjoys biking or hiking will appreciate this one, and there is a lot to be learned about keeping design simple and focused on a singular purpose.
